In a statement carried by state news agency Saba, PLC warned the Houthis of the consequences of their intention to intensify attacks, target civilian sites and sabotage peace efforts.

Yemeni government sources revealed that in recent days, Houthis have mobilized and redeployed fighters, vehicles and weapons on various fronts in the Arab country.

PLC praised “the readiness of the Yemeni armed forces and resistance groups to defend state institutions and counter the Houthi attack”.

PLC also considered the potential impact on global shipping and trade caused by the Houthis' repeated attacks in the Red Sea, and expressed hope that international solidarity would contribute to enhancing Yemen's capacity to protect its waters and sovereignty.

Observers said the PLC's emergency meeting signaled increased tensions and the possibility of renewed fighting between the Houthis and pro-government forces in Yemen.
