Head of the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Tran Cong Tam, said: Due to prolonged hot weather combined with the lack of strict quarantine of shrimp seed before stocking, the polluted environment has caused many shrimp farming areas to be affected by diseases.
Currently, the department is coordinating with localities to strengthen disease surveillance at the grassroots level and farming areas; develop a plan for proactive sampling and monitoring, research epidemiological characteristics, response and treatment measures to prevent dangerous pathogens and emerging diseases from entering the province, regularly take samples for environmental monitoring and warning...
In particular, propaganda should be made for aquaculture farmers to declare diseases, take measures to disinfect, sterilize and handle when diseases occur; strictly handle cases of arbitrary discharge and concealment of information about diseased aquatic animals, increasing the risk of disease spreading.
