According to records at public and private vaccination centers, the number of people coming to get flu vaccines is increasing.

At vaccination facilities in Ho Chi Minh City such as the Pasteur Institute of Ho Chi Minh City, VNVC Vaccination Center,FPT Long Chau Vaccination Center, etc., the number of people coming to get seasonal flu shots has increased many times compared to before Tet.

Waiting for post-vaccination monitoring at the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Phung Duong Thanh, living in Tan Binh District (Ho Chi Minh City) shared: “I have been vaccinated against flu but did not maintain the annual booster vaccination schedule. However, after reading the warnings about many cases of severe flu complications and worrying about the flu epidemic spreading, my family members and I decided to get vaccinated against flu for peace of mind.”

The number of people getting seasonal flu shots increased after the Lunar New Year.

Doctor, Specialist 1 Dinh Van Thoi, Head of Vaccination Clinic, Pasteur Institute, Ho Chi Minh City said that during the recent Lunar New Year holiday, the number of people coming to get vaccinated was not much. However, after the Tet holiday, the demand for flu vaccination increased by more than 20% due to people's desire to protect their health during the transitional season.

Currently, the flu vaccine is an effective preventive measure that can be given year-round and should be repeated annually to maintain immunity. This vaccine is for everyone, especially high-risk groups such as young children, the elderly, and people with chronic diseases. Regarding vaccine supply, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City is ensuring adequate supply, so people do not need to worry about shortages. In case of sudden demand increase, the Institute will have appropriate adjustment plans.

Therefore, Dr. Thoi said that although the demand for flu vaccination is increasing, people do not need to worry too much or rush to get vaccinated at the same time to avoid overloading medical facilities.

Similarly, the VNVC vaccination system also recorded an increase in the number of people coming to get vaccinated against seasonal flu. Doctor, Specialist 1 Bach Thi Chinh, Medical Director of the VNVC Vaccination System, said that from nearly 220 VNVC vaccination centers nationwide, the number of people proactively getting vaccinated against flu increased 10 times compared to normal days.

"The majority of people coming for vaccination include children, the elderly and people with underlying diseases. Many families have come to VNVC to get vaccinated, including a large family of more than 20 members getting vaccinated together. Although the number of people coming for vaccination is many times higher than usual, we always pay attention to the issue of vaccination safety, ensuring vaccine quality and high disease prevention effectiveness after vaccination, and at the same time, we are committed to not increasing vaccine prices," Dr. Bach Thi Chinh shared.
