Clearly identifying the importance of political and ideological work, the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation directed the organization of studying and thoroughly grasping the Party's Directives and Resolutions; propagating, disseminating and updating information on new guidelines and policies, new theoretical and practical issues in many forms, suitable to the conditions of agencies and units; effectively implementing the 2024 Special Topic "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style on building Vietnamese culture, people and corporate culture". Party committees and mass organizations regularly do a good job of grasping the ideology, motivating cadres, party members and workers, propagating and promptly rewarding typical examples of "good people, good deeds" with the motto "using beauty to eliminate ugliness", orienting to promptly resolve problems arising in production and business activities.
The preparation work for the Party congresses at all levels in the Corporation and the 13th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation has been proactively and thoroughly prepared, in accordance with regulations and instructions. The Party development and Party member management work has always been focused on and well implemented by the Party Committee of the Corporation. In 2024, 233 new Party members were admitted (104% compared to the same period).
Party committees and inspection committees at all levels in the entire Party have closely followed the direction and inspection and supervision program of superiors to develop and organize the implementation of inspection and supervision tasks in the unit, thereby clearly pointing out the existing problems, limitations and shortcomings to overcome, making an important contribution to leading the implementation of political tasks and Party building work. The implementation of Directive No. 27-CT/TW of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership in practicing thrift and combating waste; and documents implementing the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity have had many positive changes.
Along with that, the work of mass mobilization and leadership of mass organizations is focused. Under the leadership of Party committees at all levels, trade unions at all levels in the whole industry have many innovations in the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots, for the interests of workers and the sustainable development of enterprises. Activities such as organizing meetings and dialogues between the Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of the Corporation with exemplary Station Chiefs and Train Chiefs; visiting and giving gifts to collectives and workers working on New Year's Eve; providing subsidies to workers in difficult circumstances, organizing the program "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Chia Chia" at stations, in remote areas; donating to support people and workers in the Railway industry affected by storm No. 3 ( Yagi ) have promptly encouraged and motivated union members to make efforts to overcome difficulties and actively contribute to improving production and business efficiency.
The Youth Union chapters at all levels in the Corporation have promoted the role of a vanguard and volunteer force in all areas of activity, organized many meaningful action movements, creating an environment for union members to study, improve their qualifications, contribute and grow. Typical examples include the program "Training union members", the campaign "Vietnamese youth study and follow Uncle Ho's teachings" associated with youth volunteer movements to serve passengers and shippers; and guarding to ensure railway traffic safety at unmanned crossings and self-opened walkways...

One of the highlights in proactively implementing Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee on "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined, effective and efficient" is the merger of the two Hanoi and Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Companies to complete the restructuring plan ahead of schedule to improve production and business efficiency, reduce costs and transportation prices; focus resources, finance, and means of transport to enhance competitiveness, improve corporate governance efficiency, and increase the ability to mobilize capital for railway transport development plans.
The Corporation participated with the Ministry of Transport in the process of preparing and submitting to the National Assembly for approval of the investment project for the North-South high-speed railway project and the Project Investment Policy approved by the National Assembly on November 30, 2024; completed and submitted to the Ministry of Transport the Project on restructuring the Vietnam Railway Corporation to manage, operate and exploit the high-speed railway.
In 2024, passenger transport business still maintained positive results and increased compared to the previous year, output, revenue and profit exceeded the plan. Many solutions to increase freight transport output, especially international freight by rail, were effectively implemented, the total output of imported and exported goods through the two border gates was 136% compared to the same period. Localities and partners promoted cooperation with the Railway to promote potential strengths, connect, experience local heritage, connect services, traffic - share for mutual development.
To achieve the above positive results, the Party Committee of the Corporation has directed the organization of preliminary and final reviews of resolutions on transportation, railway traffic safety, science and technology, human resources, etc., assessing advantages, shortcomings, and arising problems, thereby proposing appropriate solutions and directions. Along with that, promoting the application of information technology to support and improve the efficiency of transportation management, improving professionalism in customer care services; proactively and flexibly building itineraries and organizing reasonable train operations during peak transportation periods during Tet and summer holidays, putting into operation many new products and services; renovating and refurbishing stations to become cultural destinations with the motto "Each route has a flower, each station has a destination" which is highly appreciated by train passengers.
The Central Heritage Connection Train - a new service product of the railway industry launched in 2024 - is highly appreciated by passengers.
The year 2025 marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation (April 6, 1955 - April 6, 2025), and is also an important year to strive to successfully implement the targets of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 12th National Congress of the Party Committee of the Corporation. Besides many advantages, there are also many difficulties and challenges.
Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation Dang Sy Manh said that the Party Executive Committee of the Corporation has issued a Resolution on the results of leadership in Party building work and implementation of political tasks in 2024, key tasks in 2025, promoting achievements, frankly acknowledging limitations, shortcomings and causes, drastically and synchronously implementing solutions to strive to fulfill the set targets, and together with the country entering a new era, the era of national growth.
The main tasks are to prepare and successfully organize Party congresses at all levels in the Corporation and the 13th Congress of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Railway Corporation; continue to innovate, improve the quality and effectiveness of Party building work associated with the process of restructuring enterprises, especially focusing on innovation and streamlining the Corporation's organizational apparatus to operate efficiently, effectively and effectively. Continue to direct strict maintenance of Party discipline, well implement regulations on Party member management, promote exemplary behavior of cadres and Party members, first of all, heads of Party committees, agencies and organizations; prevent and repel degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the organization.
The Corporation focuses on effectively and safely exploiting existing railways, proactively coordinating and participating in fields related to the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis and a number of new railway lines; effectively exploiting railway infrastructure assigned by the State, creating more jobs and income for workers, striving for effective growth in production and business, with profits higher each year than the previous year.
