Outstanding qualities of college students that are sought after by businesses

(NLDO) - In the context of Vietnam's strong economic development, success no longer lies in a university degree, but actual ability is the most effective measure.

That was the sharing of Mr. Nguyen Duc Tuan, Deputy General Director of Eurostone, Director of Operations of the Commander Training Academy, at the Back to School Day program organized by Ho Chi Minh City College of Architecture and Construction on the morning of September 19.

One student said he had enrolled in two majors: architectural engineering technology and construction engineering technology. His biggest dream was to be able to build his own house.

Clear orientation on the first day of school

At the fair, new students completed admission procedures, were introduced to training programs and extracurricular activities, and had the opportunity to talk with experts and get guidance on their study strategies on the first day of school.

Mr. Tuan said that currently, many businesses are having difficulty finding highly skilled personnel. This situation has led to a major change in recruitment methods.

"Now it is no longer a matter of students looking for jobs, instead businesses have to find suitable workers. Students can proactively choose jobs that suit their abilities and interests" - Mr. Tuan affirmed.

In the field of architecture - interior design - construction, college students have many advantages, in which practical experience is the core. In fact, many businesses "place orders" for recruitment right from when students are still in school, showing high appreciation for the team of practical engineers.

According to Mr. Tuan, this has completely broken the prejudice about the inferiority of college students compared to university students.

According to experts, the advantages of the modern college training system include: practical skills, shortened training time, early entry into the labor market, eligibility for university transfer, overcoming the situation of "too many teachers, not enough workers", participating in many manufacturing companies; easy to start a business in a specific profession.

Love the job without knowing it

At the festival, Thai Thinh, a new student majoring in interior design, said that he felt very confused at first. He did not know if his choice was the right one or not while most of his friends were studying at university.

"After meeting teachers and interacting with business experts, I feel closer and have a clearer picture of what I need to do in the next 2 years. I hope I will reap many successes in my chosen career" - Thinh expressed.

Nguyen Pham Bao Ngoc said that at first she chose to study fashion design at college, but after consulting with her family, she chose to study architectural design.

Not only men, many female students also have a passion for architectural design.

"During my studies, I began to feel that this industry is very interesting and I fell in love with the profession without realizing it. What impressed me the most was that I could do an internship early and easily transfer to college" - Ngoc excitedly said.

Skill makes success

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Association, commented that career orientation in the digital age does not stop at choosing a career but helps students develop skills, career thinking, and lifelong learning capacity.

Some young people and parents still rely on tradition or "hot" trends to choose a career, not understanding themselves, not understanding the profession, not understanding the changes in the labor market. "Only the views on professional skills in choosing and learning a career and excellence in the profession are the decisive factors for success" - Mr. Tuan affirmed.
