Thanh Hoa : Balloons exploded at the opening ceremony, many students were burned
During the opening ceremony, a cluster of balloons exploded, causing 7 students of Yen Phu Primary School (Yen Dinh District, Thanh Hoa) to be burned and hospitalized. 3 students with minor injuries were treated at home by their families.
Students were taken to a medical facility to treat burns from balloon explosions on the first day of school.
According to reports, at around 8:45, after the opening ceremony, many students ran up to the stage to get balloons. At that time, Mr. C. was smoking a cigarette and accidentally touched the balloons, causing them to explode, burning the surrounding students.
Afterwards, the Department of Education and Training and the local authorities worked with Yen Phu Primary School. At the meeting, the school's Board of Directors clearly determined the responsibility of Mr. C. for smoking, causing the explosion. In this incident, the teacher did not do it on purpose, so the Board of Directors held a meeting and agreed to require Mr. C. to learn from his experience and at the same time strictly prohibit smoking in the school.
According to the law, Mr. C. will be administratively fined, ranging from 200,000 to 500,000 VND. The school has proposed 350,000 VND. The local government will decide on the fine.
Da Nang: Parents protest school merger, dozens of students cannot go to school
