Mr Phumtham said the State Council had examined the qualifications of the ministers whose backgrounds were in question and had assured the Cabinet Secretariat that the backgrounds of the nominees were acceptable.

Therefore, according to Mr. Phumtham, the cabinet list should be submitted to the Royal for approval and the new ministers sworn in, in time for the new Government to issue a policy statement no later than September 15.

Previously, it was reported that up to 11 candidates nominated for the Cabinet of new Prime Minister Paetongtarn were facing investigations by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).

However, on the same day, September 2, Vice President of the Pheu Thai Party Chusak Sirinil said that NACC Secretary General Niwatchai Kasemmongkol had assured the committee that none of the nominees had ethical problems.
