Girl discovered ovarian cancer at age 28
A few months ago, N. had her remaining ovary removed to treat stage 3 ovarian cancer. Her other ovary was also removed several years ago, after she was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst.
“Three years ago, I was diagnosed with a benign cyst, had to have one ovary removed, and then went to work in Japan. Recently, I felt my stomach was bloated so I went for a check-up. The doctor in Japan said I had cancer, so I returned home for treatment,” N. said.

At Military Hospital 175, after having her ovaries removed to treat the malignant tumor, N. was given a detailed plan for long-term treatment, including health support and chemotherapy. During this time, she still took the opportunity to improve her foreign language skills at her workplace.
“Please invite the patients of the second round…”, hearing the organizers calling her name, N. stepped up to the podium to receive her gift. Very quickly after that, she took home a box containing a wig, and a book titled “If Heaven Is Here”.
For N., her paradise now is her small family with her 7-year-old son, and her husband, a motorbike taxi driver who always accompanies his wife in every situation of life.
“Luckily I already had a grandson. Everyone also told me this disease can be cured and I can live.
I have prepared to wear a wig during treatment and will try to cure the disease, learn Japanese well, and try to have a stable job to raise my child," the 28-year-old girl said, as a word of encouragement to herself.

A place to sow the will to live for the sick
The free relaxation and entertainment room for patients is a humanitarian project implemented by the Social Work Department in collaboration with the Institute of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, Military Hospital 175 and sponsors, aiming to take care of mental health and give patients more strength during treatment.
The relaxation room has an area of about 40m², arranged with many practical and meaningful items such as: bookshelves and audiobook software; free wigs, bras, hats for cancer patients in need; art corner; intellectual entertainment area (chess board, Chinese chess);

In addition, this place is also equipped with computers connected to the internet to support reading news, listening to music, free entertainment and a relaxing green space.
Colonel, Professor, Doctor Nguyen Van Ba, Deputy Director of Military Hospital 175, said that for patients - especially cancer patients - mental strength is extremely important.
A relaxing space, a good book, a soothing piece of music or simply a shared smile… will give the patient more strength, confidence and optimism during the treatment process.
Stemming from that humanitarian spirit, the unit has nurtured, built and completed the Relaxation Room, with the desire to create a "little corner of love", where patients, relatives and the medical team can find peace, joy and new motivation.

The building, though simple, clearly reflects the hospital's motto: comprehensive health care for both physical and mental health.
“I believe that with the cooperation of the whole society, the Relaxation Room will become increasingly rich, maintained for a long time, becoming a friendly destination, a place to sow seeds of hope and vitality for patients,” said the leader of Military Hospital 175.
A representative of the Breast Cancer Network Vietnam (BCNV) said that over the past 12 years, this organization has always sent the message to cancer patients that they are never alone in their fight against the disease.
If unfortunately sick, patients always have specialists to accompany them for treatment. In addition, there are a series of activities to support them materially and spiritually. For healthy people, it is necessary to pay more attention to proactive health care.
“We want to send our best wishes to everyone, that together we will fight and overcome this disease,” said a BCNV representative.
