In Ky Nam ward (Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh ) - a place often affected by the southwest monsoon, the heat of the past few days has caused some trees in the bonsai gardens of households to show signs of leaf burn.

To prevent drought for plants, every 4-5am and 6-7pm, Ms. Bui Thi Kim Lien in Tan Tien village (Ky Nam ward) prepares equipment and machines to spray water on the plants.

Ms. Lien said: " My family has about 700-800 mai trees. Although Mai Ky Nam is considered to be able to withstand harsh weather, it is necessary to provide enough water and keep the roots moist to ensure that the trees do not burn their leaves or lose their leaves due to the heat. Determined not to let the heat affect the growth and development of more than 1,000 late-season apricot trees, in recent days, Ms. Bui Thi Hau's family (Tan Thanh village, Ky Nam ward) has also been urgently preparing more straw to cover the roots and adding more drought-resistant microbial fertilizer to regulate the growth of the apricot garden.

According to Ms. Hau, in addition to regular watering, ensuring moisture at the base, adding nutrients, checking for pests... are effective solutions to limit the drying and poor quality of plants. In particular, when using straw to cover the base, a thick layer must be left to create moisture and prevent water loss in hot weather...

Faced with the prolonged hot weather and high risk of drought, Ky Anh town has directed Ky Nam ward and guided people to implement many solutions to combat drought for apricot trees by various measures such as: taking advantage of water from streams and wells for daily watering, increasing root mulch with leaves and straw, closely monitoring the growth of trees...

Thanks to careful, synchronous, and scientific care, more than ten thousand apricot trees in Ky Nam are still growing well.

Ky Nam commune is considered the “capital” of yellow apricot in Ha Tinh, with more than 100 households growing the flowers, covering an area of ​​about 7 hectares. With a long tradition of growing ornamental apricots, farmers in Ky Nam have created valuable and aesthetic products that are highly appreciated by apricot players.
