Fined 90 million VND, suspended business for 4 months

Regarding the case of 153 people being poisoned by eating bread, on the afternoon of March 12, news from the People's Committee of Soc Trang City said that the Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang Province had just signed a decision to administratively fine the TH bread business household (Hai Ba Trung Street, Ward 1, Soc Trang City) with the amount of 90 million VND.

The patient who got food poisoning from eating bread had to be hospitalized for treatment.

According to the decision, TH bakery committed administrative violations such as: Importing, producing, processing, supplying, and selling food causing food poisoning... Test results showed that the cause of the poisoning was the Salmonellaspp microorganism found in cold cuts.

For the above violation, TH bakery was administratively fined 90 million VND; suspended business operations for 4 months and forced to bear all medical and treatment costs for 153 people with food poisoning with a total amount of over 384 million VND.

As Thanh Nien reported, on January 24, after eating bread with pate, ham, cold cuts, pork floss, cucumber, butter... bought at TH bakery, by late that same day, nearly 160 people showed signs of food poisoning with symptoms of stomachache, diarrhea, vomiting, fever... and had to be hospitalized for treatment.

Through statistics and verification, there are a total of 153 people hospitalized for treatment at hospitals in Soc Trang province.
