With the theme “Digital transformation in sustainable agricultural development”, the competition focuses on promoting the application of high technology in production, traceability, post-harvest preservation and distribution of agricultural products.
This is a practical platform to discover and incubate new ideas, connect resources and contribute to building a Vietnamese agricultural startup ecosystem that reaches the regional level.
The contest is organized nationwide, targeting 6 socio -economic regions.

According to the organizers, the competition focuses on the fields of management, production, processing, and preservation in the field of high-tech agriculture, including: production and processing of edible mushrooms and medicinal mushrooms; medicinal plants; orchids and ornamental plants; plant cell technology; microbiological technology; biotechnology; cultivation technology; aquaculture technology; livestock technology; post-harvest technology; biological products.

In addition, there are applications of information technology, IoT, big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), automation, robots, drones, etc. in management, production, processing, post-harvest preservation, and product traceability in the high-tech agricultural sector.
Mr. Pham Dinh Dung, Head of the Management Board of the High-Tech Agricultural Zone of Ho Chi Minh City, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, emphasized that the Central Highlands in general and Lam Dong in particular are regions with natural advantages and special soil, outstanding with typical agricultural products such as coffee, vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, etc.
However, facing the challenges of climate change, urbanization and global competition, the path to sustainable agricultural development cannot lack the role of applying digital transformation to production - a key factor to help optimize production, improve the value chain and competitiveness of local agricultural products.

Mr. Pham Dinh Dung added that the competition was organized to create a large-scale, creative and professional playground, where young people, individuals with business ideas, start-up businesses... across the country have the opportunity to present ideas, connect resources and realize potential business projects, contributing to bringing technology into agricultural production practices, solving specific problems from local to national practices.
The competition “Innovative start-up in the field of high-tech agriculture by 2025” is built as part of the long-term action plan of the agricultural sector, aiming to create a foundation for a new generation of entrepreneurs: dynamic, creative and technology-savvy.
This year, the competition is expanded nationwide according to Decision 2905/QD-UBND dated July 26, 2024 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on approving the project to organize an innovative startup competition in the field of high-tech agriculture in the period 2025-2030, creating conditions for many talents across the country to access opportunities to start a business and develop in the field of high-tech agriculture.
