This is one of the meaningful events to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front - Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2023).
Attending the ceremony were Party Central Committee Secretaries: Head of the Party Central Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negative practices; Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, member of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negative practices, head of the Steering Committee for the National Press Award on preventing and combating corruption and negative practices; Party Central Committee members and representatives of leaders of a number of ministries, branches and central agencies.

This is an activity to encourage and motivate journalists nationwide who have promptly discovered, fought against, and condemned corruption and negative phenomena and behaviors, which have been highly appreciated by public opinion and have had positive impacts on society and journalists. Thereby, contributing to consolidating and strengthening people's trust in the Party and the State; mobilizing the strength of national solidarity, striving to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, building a prosperous and happy country.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Journalists Association and the agencies that organized this meaningful Press Award; commended and congratulated the authors and groups of authors of the 54 best works that were commended and honored at the Award Ceremony.
To promote the achieved results and further strengthen the vanguard role of the press in the fight against corruption and negativity, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized that it is necessary to continue to strengthen the leadership of the Party and the management and administration of the State so that the Vietnamese revolutionary press can operate in the right direction and actively and effectively participate in the fight against corruption and negativity.

In addition, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department said that it is necessary to further promote the role of supervision and social criticism of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, the press, and the people in the fight to prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of self-evolution and self-transformation within party members...; strongly reflect and criticize the situation of shirking, shirking, fear of responsibility, and not daring to act among a number of cadres and party members.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front and all levels, sectors and press agencies need to strengthen coordination and cooperation; further improve the effectiveness of information work, create high unity in awareness and action among cadres, party members and people in preventing and fighting corruption and negativity; gradually build a culture of thrift, a culture of integrity, no corruption and waste. First of all, cadres and party members must be exemplary, focus on strengthening social consensus, create close ties between the Party, State and people in preventing and fighting corruption and negativity.
"Strongly promote the role and social responsibility of journalists in the fight against corruption and negativity; focus on propagating good people and good deeds in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity; promote solution journalism and constructive journalism to promptly propose and recommend solutions to continue building and perfecting institutions on Party building and rectification and the political system; perfect policies and laws on preventing and combating corruption and negativity, overcome obstacles and loopholes in policies and laws, handle them fundamentally and thoroughly, and prevent corruption and negativity from happening," the Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized.
Press agencies and Journalists Associations at all levels should enhance their roles and responsibilities in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of journalists and members in the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity. Along with that, the organization of the Press Awards for preventing and combating corruption and negativity needs to continue to be innovated so that journalists have the opportunity to participate more actively, with many quality works, creating an effect in society.

After two years of organization and implementation, as of August 31, 2023, the Organizing Committee of the 4th National Press Award for Anti-Corruption and Negativity, 2022 - 2023, has received 1,078 valid works for 4 categories: print, electronic, radio, and television from 121 press agencies at the central and local levels. With the spirit of democracy, objectivity, impartiality, and high responsibility, the members of the Final Jury conducted a careful selection and unanimously selected 54 outstanding works to award 4 A prizes; 10 B prizes; 12 C prizes; 28 Encouragement prizes.
According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, in general, the works participating in this year's Award have closely followed the theme and criteria of the Award Rules. Many works have good quality, high discovery, demonstrating the dedication and follow-up to the corruption and negativity cases of journalists, creating a great social impact, bringing positive results in the fight against corruption and negativity through quite rich and vivid topics in the style of modern journalism.

Reflecting the determination of the Party and State, the involvement of functional agencies, the response and active participation of all classes of people in the fight against corruption and negativity from the Central to local levels, the works entered into the competition are the crystallization of the hard work of journalists, overcoming all difficulties, pressures, and even dangers in the process of working to have journalistic works with high fighting spirit and profound humanity.

The new point of this Award is that there are more works written on the topic of preventing and combating negativity that are highly appreciated by the Steering Committee and the Organizing Committee; at the same time, there are also more works on the topic of praising and encouraging brave examples in the fight against corruption and negativity, which have a widespread impact in society.
