On September 8, the People's Council of Da Nang city, term X, 2021-2026 (after merger) held the 3rd session to carry out personnel work under its authority.
At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People's Council Tran Phuoc Son presented the Proposal to dismiss Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet from the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, term X, 2021-2026, to take on a new assignment and introduced the candidate to be elected as Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, term X, 2021-2026, for Mr. Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee.
The People's Council of Da Nang city has conducted a secret ballot to elect a new Chairman of the City People's Committee.
As a result, 82/82 delegates present agreed to elect Mr. Pham Duc An, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City for the 2021-2026 term.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Duc An thanked the delegates of the People's Council of Da Nang city for their trust in electing him to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of the city and pledged to unite with the government and people of the city, promote collective intelligence, and build an increasingly civilized and prosperous city.
Mr. Pham Duc An was born on February 1, 1970 in Thanh Long commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province; a member of the 15th National Assembly, Hanoi City Delegation. Mr. Pham Duc An has the following qualifications: Bachelor of Economic Law, Bachelor of Banking and Finance, Master of Business Administration; Advanced level in political theory.
He has held the positions of Deputy General Director of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV); Chief of Office of the State Bank of Vietnam; Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Board of Members of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ); Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province.
Previously, on September 6, at the Conference to announce the Politburo and Secretariat's Decisions on personnel work, the Da Nang City Party Committee announced the Secretariat's Decision on transferring and appointing Mr. Pham Duc An to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, holding the position of Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and introducing him to be elected as Chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
