Deputy Chief of District Police was injured while participating in fire fighting.

(NLDO) - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Chief of Kim Thanh District Police, and a resident were injured while participating in fire fighting.

On February 3, Kim Thanh District Police ( Hai Duong Province) said that in the early morning of the first day of Tet (January 29), while participating in fire fighting at a warehouse of a local enterprise, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Head of Kim Thanh District Police, and one resident were injured.

Accordingly, at 0:25 on January 29 (the first day of the Lunar New Year), the working group of Kim Thanh District Police leaders and officers and soldiers of the unit patrolled, inspected, and urged the work of ensuring security and order and preventing illegal fireworks on New Year's Eve.

While traveling on Highway 5, Hai Phong - Hanoi direction, reaching the section in Phuong Due village, Kim Xuyen commune, Kim Thanh district, the working group discovered that a warehouse containing shoe insoles made of paper and rubber, about 300 square meters wide, belonging to Duc Loi Trading and Investment Company Limited, was on fire.

Upon discovering the incident, the working group called on the people to put out the fire. After about 20 minutes, the fire was extinguished, the burned area was about 4 square meters, and the property damage was insignificant.

However, during the process of approaching the fire, a fire extinguisher of the company exploded due to heat, causing a sharp object to hit the lower right leg of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu, Deputy Chief of Kim Thanh District Police, causing injury (2.5 cm deep, 15 cm long) and a resident suffered a minor injury to the right ear.

Immediately afterwards, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Hieu and the above-mentioned people were taken to Kim Thanh District Medical Center for treatment; they have now returned home to continue treatment.
