Dak Nong women spread patriotic emulation movement

On June 20, the Provincial Women's Union held the 5th Conference to commend advanced models and review the "Godmother" program for the 2021-2025 period.

In the 2020-2025 period, patriotic emulation movements launched by the Women's Union have spread widely, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere throughout the area.

With the motto of specific and practical actions, 100% of the Association's facilities have applied member management software, organized more than 2,600 environmental protection campaigns and donated more than 28,000 improved stoves, 15,000 water filters, and 16,000 energy-saving light bulbs to raise awareness of green - clean - beautiful living in the community.

On the economic front, the association at all levels supported 425 women to start businesses, establish 9 cooperatives and 7 cooperative groups led by women. Nearly 22,000 women have access to capital from the Social Policy Bank (VND 1,417 billion) and the Women's Economic Opportunity Fund (VND 45.5 billion), contributing to improving the lives of members.

Cultural and social activities are also focused on. The province maintains 628 sports and arts clubs; organizes 56 literacy classes for 1,300 women; provides vocational training for 1,240 people and introduces jobs to 524 members.

In the new rural construction program, nearly 22,000 households met the "5 no, 3 clean" standards; more than 2,300 environmental sanitation sessions were organized regularly.

With outstanding results, the Provincial Women's Union and Dak Song District Women's Union were honored to receive the emulation flag from the Prime Minister . The Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union awarded certificates of merit to 110 groups, 53 individuals and 494 "For the development of Vietnamese women" medals.

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union continued to award certificates of merit to 20 typical collectives and 63 individuals.

On this occasion, the Provincial Women's Union organized a conference to review the "Godmother" Program - a humane initiative demonstrating the profound social responsibility of the Union.

Accordingly, after more than 4 years of implementation (2021-2025), the program has sponsored 335/1,064 orphans across the province, with support ranging from 500,000 - 1,000,000 VND/month until they turn 18 years old. The total mobilized budget reached nearly 8.2 billion VND.

In addition to material support, the “godmothers” become spiritual support, accompanying the children in their studies and life. Through the connection of the association at all levels, nearly 2,000 scholarships, bicycles, books, and necessities worth more than 1.8 billion VND were awarded.

5 “Happy Houses” were built by the association at all levels, providing a safe place for orphans. Many practical fundraising models such as piggy banks, scrap collection, and charity sales were implemented at the grassroots level.

Some typical units taking the lead in the program include: Provincial Police Women's Committee, Tuy Duc District Women's Union, Gia Nghia City, Dak R'lap District. In 2023, the Provincial Women's Union organized the "Father, Mother - Godchild" exchange program to connect the parties and spread love in the community.

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union awarded certificates of merit to 22 collectives and 35 individuals with many positive contributions.
