Hai Phong women compete in "Being good at public affairs and good at housework"

Businesses care, the movement is more vibrant

In many businesses, especially those with a high proportion of female workers, the attention and sharing of leaders creates motivation for the emulation movement to spread strongly.

Like Iko Thompson Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japanese Industrial Park - Hai Phong ) with more than 70% female employees, in addition to fully implementing legal regulations, the company also issued many separate policies that benefit women. Company Union President Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh said that female employees who are pregnant from the 5th month are assigned light work, and do not have to work shifts until the 7th month. Each month, women with poor health can take 2 hours off and still receive full pay, 1 hour more than male employees.

In particular, female workers who give birth are given gifts twice as much as men. These policies help women feel secure at work and encourage emulation movements.

By 2024, female workers will account for about 30% of the total number of employees at the company, achieving the title of “good worker, creative worker”. In regular dialogues, female workers frankly proposed increasing meal allowances, allowances, opening classes on family and child care skills, etc., showing the increasingly clear role of women in corporate life.

As a company with nearly 70% female employees, Maple Company Limited (VSIP Industrial Park) has many practical care activities. The Women's Union cooperated with the Company's Trade Union to persuade the leadership to reduce working hours but still pay full salary and allowances to pregnant workers and workers with young children. The Company's Trade Union also actively coordinated to organize more than 100 training sessions and 10 large propaganda campaigns to help female workers be equipped with knowledge and skills to protect themselves.

Many cultural and artistic activities such as the Miss Maple contest, "Maple Smile", "Charming Vietnamese Ao Dai" were organized, creating a healthy playground, encouraging the spirit of women, spreading the movement "Good at public work, good at housework" widely. The company's Union President Bui Thi Hong Lien proposed that the upper-level Union build an information network of businesses that only work during office hours, creating favorable conditions for female workers to have a job and a stable income while raising young children because many women have to quit their jobs after giving birth to take care of their children because they cannot work overtime or shifts.

At Regina Miracle International Vietnam Co., Ltd. (VSIP Industrial Park), the movement "Good at public work, good at housework" is promoted by dedicated female staff.

A typical example is Ms. Cao Thi Hop, Vice President in charge of Women's Union work, who is always exemplary in her work and enthusiastically proposes initiatives. In the context of economic difficulties, she proposed the solution of "Stabilizing employment for workers" to help the enterprise maintain production without having to cut staff. The initiative of arranging bus pick-up and drop-off points for workers also brings convenience to more than 29,000 workers of the enterprise.

Ms. Hop hopes that, in order for the movement to spread further, the superior Trade Union will promptly reflect the wishes of female workers regarding social housing, childcare near industrial parks, etc., to help women feel secure in their work, stay committed and contribute to the development of the business.

Supporting the movement in the new phase

In 2024, female workers will account for more than 40% of the total number of “skilled workers” and nearly 27% of “creative workers” in the city. Many women will be awarded the Creative Labor Certificate and certificates of merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , the City People’s Committee and the Hai Phong City Labor Federation.

A typical example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, an employee of the Production Engineering Department of Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japanese Industrial Park - Hai Phong) with the initiative "Increasing the actual volume and reducing pipe cutting errors on the JC4385 machine at block CT" helping the company earn a profit of 1.9 billion VND. This is the 4th time she has been awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Ms. Tuyet expressed her pride in contributing a small part to the development of the company. "The important thing is that women can be completely creative and proactive, not inferior to men."

Another shining example is Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy, Manager, Union Leader of the Pasting Workshop, Son Thuy Production and Trading Joint Stock Company (Hong Bang District). She not only completed her management tasks well but also came up with the idea of producing reflective raincoats, meeting the safety needs of outdoor workers, bringing in a profit of 85 million VND/year.

In addition to work, Ms. Thuy also regularly organizes activities to care for the spiritual life of female union members and workers' children, from cooking and art competitions to giving gifts on the occasion of Children's Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.

According to Deputy Head of the Trade Union Work Committee (City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee) Do Van Sanh, the movement "Good at public work, good at housework" has truly become a fulcrum for female workers and civil servants in the city to promote their capacity and affirm their mark. In the coming time, the City Labor Federation will continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; linking the movement with caring for the lives and protecting the legitimate rights of female workers.

Along with replicating advanced models, the City Labor Federation focuses on fostering the skills of female union members, workers and civil servants, building an equal, safe and friendly working environment, creating a foundation for the movement to become increasingly more in-depth, practical and effective.

The emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" not only encourages female workers and civil servants to complete their professional tasks well but also arouses their creativity and boldness in proposing ideas that benefit the business.
