Friendship and new prospects for cooperation between Vietnam and Algeria

Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh strongly affirmed his desire to strengthen the historic friendship with Algeria, especially in the context of Vietnam constantly expanding relations with African partners.

According to a VNA correspondent in Algeria, on the evening of September 24 (local time), in the solemn atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in the capital city of Algiers, Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh strongly affirmed his desire to strengthen the historic friendship with Algeria, especially in the context of Vietnam constantly expanding relations with African partners.

The event took place at the Vietnamese Embassy with the participation of more than 200 guests, including Algerian Minister of Veterans and Meritorious People Laid Rebiga and many representatives of diplomatic corps and international organizations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh emphasized Vietnam's commitment to maintaining a multilateral foreign policy, respecting international law and prioritizing peaceful solutions in resolving disputes, despite current challenges.

The Ambassador also shared Vietnam's impressive achievements after 8 decades of development, with its position as one of the 32 largest economies in the world. Vietnam has now established diplomatic relations with 194 countries and signed free trade agreements with 20 partners.

In particular, Vietnam aims to become a developed country by 2045 and achieve net zero emissions by 2050.

The Ambassador appreciated the role of the Vietnamese community in Algeria as an important cultural bridge, and expressed his hope that 2025 will mark a new turning point in bilateral relations.

The celebration program was organized with many meaningful activities, including the performance of the national anthems of the two countries in Vietnamese and Arabic, screening of documentaries about Vietnam's development journey, and unique culinary experiences imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity./.
