The event attracted the participation of many Vietnamese tourism agencies and units and businesses in India.
Vietnam - India strengthen tourism cooperation
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy expressed his honor to be present in Bengaluru city - one of the most dynamic economic , cultural and tourism centers of India.
India is a country with a long history, the birthplace of many major religions, especially Buddhism, and possesses many unique cultural heritages that are respected by the whole world .
“In Vietnam's foreign relations, India is not only a Comprehensive Strategic Partner since 2016, but also a great friend, always accompanying and cooperating closely with us in many fields, including tourism,” Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy emphasized at the Program to introduce Vietnamese tourism and connect businesses in the Indian market in 2025.
Emphasizing tourism cooperation between the two countries, the Deputy Director emphasized that tourism is one of the most deeply connected fields, because each trip not only has the meaning of discovery but also serves as a bridge of friendship, helping people of the two countries understand and get closer to each other.
The positive growth results of Indian tourist flows to Vietnam in the past two years have affirmed the growing attractiveness of Vietnam, while opening up huge potential for cooperation between the two sides in the tourism sector.
Vietnam : Ideal destination and flexible e-visa procedures
Emphasizing the endless beauty and unique culture of Vietnam in India, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy mentioned UNESCO-recognized world heritage sites such as Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Trang An Complex, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Ho Dynasty Citadel, Hue Imperial Citadel, Hoi An Ancient Town, and My Son Sanctuary.
“Vietnam offers a rich product portfolio: from high-end beach resorts, MICE tourism, weddings, to cultural and spiritual journeys associated with Buddhism, suitable for the diverse needs of international tourists, including Indian tourists,” Deputy Director Pham Van Thuy emphasized.
Regarding cuisine, the Deputy Director affirmed that Vietnamese cuisine is an attractive highlight. With its diversity, balance and rich flavors, Vietnamese cuisine both retains its traditional identity and is suitable for many tastes, including Indian diners.
In particular, in Hanoi, Ha Long, Da Nang, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City, there are more and more Indian restaurants operating, helping tourists find familiarity in their journey, while experiencing the cultural exchange between Vietnamese and Indian cuisine.
In addition, according to the Deputy Director, Vietnam has been creating many favorable conditions for Indian visitors, from quick e-visa procedures, a stay of up to 90 days, valid for single or multiple entries to an increasingly expanding airline network, directly connecting major cities of India and Vietnam.
Vietnam has long been a destination with a safe, friendly environment and hospitable people. All these factors contribute to a convenient, complete and memorable journey for Indian tourists when choosing Vietnam.
Promote the beauty of Vietnam
At the program, the image of Vietnam was also introduced to Indian partners and tourists with the thousand-year-old cultural beauty of the capital Hanoi such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Temple of Literature, Long Bien Bridge, One Pillar Pagoda... All depict a city rich in cultural identity, history and modernity.
Besides introducing destinations and policies, the event also creates space for business connection activities between tourism and hotel companies of Vietnam and India, opening up effective business cooperation opportunities.
Traditional art performances with traditional musical instruments such as flute, erhu, pipa, monochord, Klonput and T'rung, performed by the Artist Group from the Vietnam National Music, Dance and Singing Theatre, added color to the program.
The music party will enhance guests' perception of the beauty of the country, people and rich cultural identity of Vietnam.
“Today’s event is not only an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnamese tourism, but also an important opportunity to strengthen cooperation between tourism businesses of the two countries. From there, it will contribute to making tourism one of the most prominent areas of cooperation in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India in the coming time,” the Deputy Director emphasized.
In 2024, Vietnam welcomed 501,427 Indian visitors, nearly triple the figure in 2019. In the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed 387,117 Indian visitors, an increase of 42.5% over the same period in 2024. India is one of the 10 countries with the largest number of international searches for Vietnam tourism since the beginning of 2022.
