Since the beginning of the year, the province has sanctioned 54 administrative violations, with 52 vehicles, with a fine of more than 8.2 billion VND; handled 99 cases of VMS disconnection, sanctioned 24 cases; handled 30 fishing vessels that crossed the permitted sea boundary, with no violations identified. The fishing vessel monitoring system has assigned access rights to relevant agencies and localities for management...

In particular, in order to strengthen the fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, local authorities, with the provincial border guards as the main force, have organized a peak period against IUU fishing. Accordingly, the provincial border guards have mobilized maximum forces and means and coordinated with inter-sectoral forces to synchronously deploy many measures, resolutely and strictly manage and strictly handle fishing vessels and fishermen who illegally enter foreign waters to exploit seafood.

The key area of this plan is the entire sea and island border of the Border Guard Command. According to the representative of the Border Guard Command of Quang Ngai, the provincial border force has focused on coordinating with the police to investigate and clarify the lines and subjects of brokerage, organizing ships and fishermen to go to foreign waters to illegally exploit seafood, or connecting with foreign authorities to broker, redeem fishermen's ships captured by foreign countries, and handle illegal fishing and illegal activities...

In addition, Quang Ngai has also conducted a comprehensive review of unregistered and uninspected fishing vessels. Currently, the locality has about 700 fishing vessels that are classified as “3 no” (unregistered, uninspected and without a fishing license). Of these, the most concentrated are in Ly Son district with 228 vessels, Duc Pho town with 186 vessels and Quang Ngai city with 160 vessels... Faced with this situation, local authorities have reported to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to find solutions.

Previously, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ngai province also reviewed and grasped the current status of fishing vessels to screen and classify them to ensure monitoring and supervision of all activities of the fleet, and handle violations according to the law against ship owners, especially the "3 no" fishing vessels. In addition, the locality is also focusing on propaganda so that fishermen who have not registered or inspected their fishing vessels, or have registered but not inspected their fishing vessels, clearly understand their rights and have correct and sufficient information about the current status of their fishing vessels. From there, measures can be taken to remove difficulties and reduce the number of "3 no" fishing vessels.
