Quang Tri: Ho Chi Minh Trail West branch cut off due to landslide

Due to the impact of storm No. 10, from yesterday until the morning of September 30, heavy rains occurred in Quang Tri province, causing rivers to rise, sweeping away many boats and ships of the people. In particular, some roads were cut off due to serious landslides.

Accordingly, at km 209 + 300, Ho Chi Minh road, the West branch of Chenh Venh village, Huong Phung commune, a landslide occurred from the positive slope down to the road with the amount of rock and soil up to hundreds of cubic meters. All of this rock and soil blocked the road for nearly 20 meters. All vehicles traveling on this road to the landslide location were forced to turn around or stop because they could not go.

Currently, the authorities are working on a plan to repair and clear the road. The Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard has also sent forces to patrol and block off areas at risk of further landslides on this road.
