A capital mobilization line from people in Quynh Luu district has been operating for a long time, with a scale of up to hundreds of billions of VND. However, a few days ago, the people who mobilized the capital suddenly declared bankruptcy.

Upon learning the news, hundreds of people went to Ms. TTH's house (the capital mobilizer; residing in Minh Thanh hamlet, Quynh Long commune, Quynh Luu district) to demand the return of money ranging from hundreds of millions to billions of dong.

Ms. VNH (in Dai Bac hamlet, Quynh Long commune) said that her husband passed away early, so she raised her two children alone. For over 10 years, she has been working abroad and saved up some money. She deposited 1 billion VND into Ms. TTH's capital mobilization line with an interest rate of 1.5%/month.

Since the beginning of October, Ms. VNH has come to Ms. TTH's house many times to ask for the money she sent but failed.

In addition, Ms. H. also sent Ms. TTV (residing in Quynh Long commune) 620 million VND, but until now Ms. V. is not at home and cannot be contacted.

Mrs. BTT (74 years old, residing in Minh Thanh hamlet, Quynh Long commune) said that her husband had just passed away due to illness, and her son had a mental illness. A few years ago, she sold a piece of land for nearly 500 million VND. She deposited 140 million VND in Ms. TTH with an interest rate of 2.1 million VND/month.

“At first, when I went to Mrs. TTH’s house to ask for money, she said she had no money to pay. I called her several times and she answered, but then she stopped answering her phone,” Mrs. T. shared.

Create a cover of success to raise capital

Mr. BCH (residing in Quynh Long commune) said that not only did he deposit all his money into the capital mobilization line, he also borrowed from outside to deposit in order to get the interest rate difference.

In 2023, Mr. BCH started depositing 500 million VND to Ms. TTH with an interest rate of 1.5%/month. When receiving regular monthly interest, he also deposited 2 more capital mobilization contacts, Ms. TTV and Ms. BTN. Up to now, the amount of money he has deposited to these 3 contacts is more than 9 billion VND.

Many victims said that on Sundays, the fundraising contacts often cook charity porridge and give rice to the poor and lonely elderly, creating the cover of being successful and wealthy people.

Mr. Tran Van Nguyen - Chairman of Quynh Long Commune People's Committee said that capital mobilization was all secret, so it was difficult for the commune government to grasp.

Speaking to VietNamNet, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu District (Nghe An) said: "Quynh Luu District has assigned the District Police to grasp information, consider the nature of the case to carry out according to professional regulations. In particular, the district closely directs the maintenance of security and order in the area where people come to the creditors' houses. In case there are signs of crime, the authorities will initiate a case to investigate according to regulations."
