On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), Kim Dong Publishing House launched the special publication "One House - Atlas of 54 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups".
“One House – Atlas of 54 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups” by author Vo Thi Mai Chi and artist Ho Quoc Cuong. With condensed, refined information, expressed through familiar, colorful images, the book takes readers to visit and feel the unique, distinct nuances of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups expressed in each village, house, dish, festival; admire traditional costumes with typical patterns, or understand more about the customs and practices of each ethnic group that have been preserved; passed down from ancient times through generations.
Each page of the book makes readers amazed and admired by the diverse and rich cultural and spiritual life of the Vietnamese family. These are the special markets of the ethnic groups; the diversity in cuisine , famous dishes; the unique beauty of festivals, folk games and many cultural features expressed in language, costumes, customs and art forms.
In the era of vibrant integration, what will anchor and connect young people to their roots? The answer lies in “national identity”, which is both the legacy of our ancestors and the source of energy for today’s and future generations to be confident in themselves. Also in this new era, for the country to reach new heights and constantly grow, the connection and solidarity between ethnic groups is the greatest source of strength.

With that spirit, the book “One House – Atlas of 54 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups” hopes to contribute to “joining hands”, arousing interest for readers to learn more about the diverse cultures as well as the rich spiritual life of 54 ethnic groups; at the same time becoming a valuable spiritual asset, helping young Vietnamese people to be proud of their national identity, nurture their love for their homeland and step out into the world with a proud attitude of being Vietnamese.
Before “One House – Atlas of 54 Vietnamese Ethnic Groups”, author Vo Thi Mai Chi and artist Ho Quoc Cuong had books that were loved by readers such as “The Land of Brocade and Flowers – Atlas of Vietnam” (2022) and “Following the Steps of Time: Typical Constructions of Saigon – Ho Chi Minh City” (2025), both published by Kim Dong Publishing House.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Kim Dong Publishing House organized a book launch exchange program with the theme: "Young people and Vietnamese identity" at 9:00 a.m. on August 23, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, with the participation of author Mai Chi, artist Ho Quoc Cuong, Master Phan Dinh Dung, lecturer specializing in Ethnic Studies in the Southeast. |
