Launching the model of "Fire Prevention and Control Safe Communes, Wards and Special Zones" in Co To

On the morning of September 19, the People's Committee of Co To Special Zone held a conference to launch the model of "Fire Prevention and Control Safe Communes, Wards and Special Zones". This is a practical activity to implement the policy of the Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Quang Ninh province in building a movement for the whole population to participate in fire prevention and control, improving the capacity to prevent and be ready to respond to fire and explosion incidents right at the grassroots level.

Co To is a northeastern border area of ​​the country, located far from the mainland, with socio -economic characteristics associated with the development of sea and island tourism, scattered population, many accommodation facilities, services, petrol and oil businesses, fishing ports, central markets... with high potential risk of fire and explosion. The implementation of the model "Commune, ward, special zone safe for fire prevention and fighting" in Co To, with the guidance of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department and Rescue (Provincial Police), has a particularly important meaning, contributing to building a people-centered fire prevention and fighting posture, "each facility and family is a fire prevention and fighting safety point".

At the Conference, the People's Committee of Co To Special Zone announced the Decision to establish the model and launched the Steering Committee for building the model, promulgating regulations and organizing the activities of the model. Members of the Steering Committee, core forces and representatives of the people of communes and towns signed a commitment to strictly implement regulations on fire safety, proactively coordinate with the police force in fire prevention and handling.

Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Police have proactively promoted their "core" role in advising the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee and coordinating with local People's Committees to resolutely, synchronously and actively deploy many solutions and measures to ensure fire prevention and rescue safety in residential areas such as: Organizing fire prevention and rescue skills training for officials, business owners, establishments and people in the area; developing plans and scenarios for fire fighting in residential areas; strengthening civil defense forces, grassroots fire prevention and rescue teams; inspecting and providing safety instructions at key production, business and service establishments. At the same time, the Provincial Police have also promoted the application of IT, deployed to establishments the content of declaration and updating of fire prevention and rescue database, ensuring strict management and timely support when situations arise. Thereby, contributing to raising awareness, consciousness and knowledge of people in this work.

The launch of the model of “Commune, ward, special zone safe for fire prevention and fighting” in Co To affirms the high political determination of the local Party Committee, government and police force in ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property, serving socio-economic development, maintaining security and safety in the sea and islands of the Fatherland. This will be an important premise to replicate the model throughout the province, creating a widespread and sustainable fire prevention and fighting movement in the community.
