According to the provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, in the 2025 winter-spring crop, Thanh Hoa will have a rice cultivation area of 111,500 hectares. To ensure the demand for production materials, seed and fertilizer production and trading establishments in the province have proactively supplied and are ready to supply to the people.
At this time, 2 hectares of rice fields of Mr. Bui Van Hai's family, Tho Loc village, Dong Loi commune (Trieu Son) have just completed land clearance. Looking at the straight plowed furrows on the large-scale field, Mr. Hai said: "Although there are still more than 10 days left before sowing and after Tet, I will go to the fields to sow, but to prepare for the 2025 winter-spring rice crop, in addition to plowing, through the agricultural service cooperative, I have bought 80 kg of seeds and 2 tons of various fertilizers. This source of materials is enough for 2 hectares of rice. Currently, the price of 1 quintal of nitrogen fertilizer is 110,000 VND, 10,000 - 15,000 VND/50kg bag cheaper than last year".
In the 2025 winter-spring crop, Dong Loi commune plans to plant 223.5 hectares of rice. Mr. Vu Dinh Thang, Director of Dong Loi Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative, said: "In order to produce on time as well as orient the structure of crop varieties according to the recommendations of the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Cooperative has proactively coordinated with seed and fertilizer suppliers in the province, ensuring enough supplies to serve the people. The Cooperative has imported 6 tons of various seeds, and at the same time coordinated with Sao Khue Trading Joint Stock Company to import 40 tons of various fertilizers."
Thieu Yen Trading Joint Stock Company, Quan Lao town (Yen Dinh) is a company specializing in supplying fertilizers through a system of 300 agents in the province. Mr. Trinh Xuan Tan, General Director of Thieu Yen Trading Joint Stock Company, said: "The source of fertilizers supplied by the company is taken from brands such as Phu My, Lam Thao, Han Viet... with an annual quantity of about 40,000 tons of all kinds. In the 2025 spring crop, the company imported 10,000 tons of all kinds of fertilizers and supplied 8,000 tons to the market."
Tien Nong Agricultural Industry Joint Stock Company is a large fertilizer producer in the province with a production capacity of 300,000 tons/year. By December 24, 2024, in Thanh Hoa alone, the company had supplied 25,000 tons of various fertilizers. Mr. Nguyen Hong Phong, general director of the company, said: "Regarding the prices of fertilizers, the company is supplying to people at a lower price than in previous crops."
According to the provincial Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, more than 3,000 establishments producing and trading agricultural materials in the province have proactively supplied and are ready to supply agricultural materials to serve production for people in the province. Of these, 24 units are both producers and traders, the rest are households, cooperatives, level 1, 2, 3 agents, and commercial enterprises.
