The design must be modern, minimalist, and concise; ensure harmony in layout and color, have prominent highlights, be memorable, easily recognized, and create sympathy with the public. The components in the logo (images, text if any) must be clearly separated, not causing conflict or influencing each other.
The artwork must be highly adaptable, ensuring flexibility in all environments, including live, online and printed on a variety of materials. At the same time, the artwork must retain sharpness, clear contrast and optimal reproduction at many different sizes, even when reduced or used in monochrome.
The awards include: 1 first prize worth 150 million VND with a certificate; 4 consolation prizes worth 10 million VND/work.
As Thanh Nien reported, in early July, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City compiled the works participating in the campaign to create a new Da Nang logo and proposed the advisory council to choose 4 options to collect comments from the community; the time for collecting comments lasted until July 15.
However, after these four logo designs were made public, many people expressed concern that the process of selecting the new logo of Da Nang was rushed, the time for collecting opinions was short, and there was no open design competition to invite the participation of experts from within and outside the locality.
Model 3 and model 4 of the new Da Nang logo also did not receive consensus from many people.

Some cultural experts and people believe that the proposed models are "too detailed", with too many elements of landscapes, heritage, nature, architecture, etc., making the logo confusing and difficult to create a recognizable mark.
Many opinions suggested that the locality should organize a public and open design competition to have more creative options, and at the same time widely consult the opinions of the people, scholars, and cultural experts before choosing the official Da Nang logo, so that the logo truly reflects the culture, history, and identity of the new Da Nang land after the merger.
