From the lowlands to the highlands in the province, this year's high school graduation exam took place quite excitingly and not as stressful as every year. 2025 is the first year of implementing the high school graduation exam according to the 2018 General Education Program with the orientation of developing students' qualities and abilities.

Accordingly, the exam was organized for both students studying under the 2018 General Education Program and students studying under the 2006 General Education Program with 2 different exam questions. In the morning, candidates took the first Literature exam in the hot weather of the last days of June.

After 120 minutes of nervous and focused exam, many candidates at the exam sites in Hai Lang district left the exam room in a relaxed spirit. Many groups of students stayed behind to enthusiastically discuss the Literature exam. Vo Thai Binh , taking the exam at Bui Duc Tai High School, Hai Lang district, shared: "I did quite well in the Literature exam, finishing all the questions. In my opinion, the graduation exam questions under the new general education program this year up to this point are quite good and new.

Regarding Math, I think it will be more difficult with many practical questions. I have reviewed this subject very carefully. In the past few days, in addition to reviewing at school, I have also searched online for mock exams from other specialized schools to do. I am confident that I will get a high score in Math." Binh also said that he plans to take the entrance exam to Da Nang University of Technical Education.

Meanwhile, at the Dakrong High School exam site in Dakrong District, many candidates also left the exam hall in high spirits. With the dream of taking the entrance exam for the preschool program at Hue University of Education, Ho Thi Thanh Thuy said she did about 60% of the Literature subject. “I did quite well in the reading comprehension section, but the writing section was difficult, so I only did above average. I will have to try harder in the following subjects to achieve the best possible results,” Thuy said.

At the exam site of Quang Tri Pedagogical College Inter-level High School this afternoon, most of the candidates only left the exam room after the bell rang to signal the end of the exam. The mood of the students was generally excited and happy. At this exam site, 140 candidates registered for the Math exam with 6 exam rooms. This is also the only location that takes the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program.

As one of the four candidates over 30 years old taking the exam this year, Mr. Ho Van Dan, 33 years old from Tria village, Huong Son commune, Huong Hoa district - one of the most remote villages in Quang Tri province - drove his motorbike hundreds of kilometers to the exam site of Quang Tri Pedagogical College.

After completing the first two exams, Mr. Dan breathed a sigh of relief and said: “This time I am quite confident in taking the graduation exam because I have carefully reviewed the subjects. I did well in both Literature and Math, so I hope to get good results. Tomorrow morning, I will try to do well in the Social Science combination exam. I work as a village cadre, so I strive to pass the graduation exam so that I can study at a higher level in the future to improve my qualifications and knowledge, and better serve the villagers,” Mr. Dan shared. Mr. Dan said he also felt proud because he was the last group of candidates to take the exam under the 2006 General Education Program.

While inside the closed school gates, the students were concentrating on their exams, outside, the parents waiting for their children were equally worried. Mr. Le Kha, 55 years old, in Tra Tri village, Hai Hung commune, Hai Lang district, father of a male candidate taking the exam at Quang Tri town high school, seemed quite restless when the exam bell rang. "Standing here waiting for my child to take the exam, I, like many other parents, was really restless. After 12 years of studying, I just hope my child gets good results to get into the university of his choice," said Mr. Kha.

Mr. Kha has 3 children, 2 of whom are studying in Ho Chi Minh City, and his youngest son is taking his graduation exam this time. He said, “Although I am busy this time, replanting rice that was flooded due to the recent unusual rain and flood, I still take the time to take him to the exam and take care of his nutrition and food so that he can have the best spirit.”

“I can’t help with knowledge, but I try to remind my child to review, go to bed on time, and take care of his health. When taking the exam, I tell him to bring all the necessary documents and tools...”, Mr. Kha added.

His house is in Gia Gia village, Huong Hiep commune - nearly 12 km from the exam site - so Mr. Ho Van Xai, father of candidate Ho Thi Kieu taking the exam at Dakrong High School, got up very early to take his child to the exam. He did not have time to eat breakfast, but when he arrived at the school, he and his child were given a warm breakfast by the young volunteers at the exam site.

“The house is far away and the road is difficult, so I had to put aside my farming work to try to take my child to school. After finishing the exam, we stayed at noon, so my father and I registered for free meals so that my child could take the exam in the afternoon. Thanks to the exam support team, my father and I, as well as many parents and candidates who live far away and have difficulty traveling, can feel secure. I sincerely thank the children very much,” Mr. Xai expressed.

This year, the Dakrong High School Youth Union mobilized dozens of union members and youth of the school, and at the same time mobilized resources to support ethnic minority candidates living far from the exam site with free meals, filtered water, and milk boxes; supported with handheld computers, printed review materials before the exam season...

At the Hai Lang High School exam site, a team of more than 20 youth union members were present very early, enthusiastically encouraging, cheering and supporting both candidates and their parents. The volunteers in blue shirts quickly distributed free filtered water, fresh milk, paper fans, arranged chairs for parents and lined up motorbikes neatly, cleaning up in front of the exam site.

Mr. Pham Van Anh Sang, in charge of the exam support team at Hai Lang High School, happily said: "We are always ready to accompany and support as much as possible to reassure candidates and their parents. I also wish candidates to be confident in doing well on the test to achieve the highest results in this exam period."
