New students are excited at the opening ceremony of the new school year.

On the afternoon of October 18, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry held the opening ceremony for the 2023-2024 school year. This school year, the school has more than 9,000 new students enrolled, reaching 99% of the target compared to the plan with standard scores for majors ranging from 19-26 points.

In the 2022-2023 school year, international cooperation activities have been promoted. The school has reviewed international training cooperation programs, lecturer exchanges, and evaluated their effectiveness to propose directions and solutions to improve training quality. Notably, the number of international lecturers coming to teach and research at the school last year was the highest ever, with more than 18 lecturers.

In his speech to the new students, Dr. Phan Hong Hai, Chairman of the School Council, said: "Closing the long journey of 12 years of studying, you step into the university door, step into a digital era, the era of creative and applied economy ."

"As a teacher, the previous generation, I hope that from now on you must learn, learn how to adapt and overcome the many temptations and challenges of the city," said Dr. Hai.

Mr. Hai also expressed his hope that students would strive to cultivate knowledge, cultivate virtue, train talent, devote themselves with youthful enthusiasm, absorb and acquire scientific and technological knowledge, and apply that scientific knowledge into practice. From there, students will become highly qualified bachelors and engineers as a foundation for their own development and contribute to building a prosperous country.

Also at the opening ceremony, the school awarded 9 scholarships to new valedictorians of all majors and 25 scholarships to outstanding students with excellent achievements in the 2022-2023 school year to encourage and motivate their learning spirit with a total amount of up to 100 million VND. In addition, many valuable scholarships were awarded to students who overcome difficulties in studying from sponsors.
