Promoting the moral tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", over the years, the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Tan Son district have always paid attention to implementing policies for wounded and sick soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution to express deep gratitude to the previous generation who devoted themselves to the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, Mrs. Phung Thi Tuyet's family in Xuan Dai commune had more joy. After many years living in an old, dilapidated house, Mrs. Tuyet and her children were able to build a new, more spacious house. Thanks to the support of the district, her siblings, relatives and neighbors, the new, solid house was completed, helping Mrs. Tuyet enjoy her old age with peace of mind.

Mrs. Tuyet is the wife of martyr Ha Quang Vinh, who died on April 29, 1975, just one day before the country became completely independent. After her husband died, Mrs. Phung Thi Tuyet raised her two sons alone. Due to difficult economic conditions, living on a few fields of rice was just enough to eat, so the family could not afford to build a house. Understanding that situation, Tan Son district supported the family with 10 million VND, mobilized relatives and neighbors to support working days, money, and materials to help the family build a solid and spacious home.

Currently, the total number of meritorious people and their relatives receiving monthly allowances in the district is 759 people. In the first 6 months of the year, the work of "Repaying gratitude" and "Drinking water, remembering its source" has been paid attention to and widely implemented by the entire political system of the district to mobilize all resources in society and the community together with the State to increasingly better care for the spiritual and material life of meritorious people and their relatives.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, Tan Son district presented 1,142 gifts to meritorious people and their relatives with a total value of 342.6 million VND. On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 * July 27, 2024), the district presented 1,206 gifts worth 359 million VND.

In addition to implementing policies well, every year, the district, together with all levels and sectors, pays attention to investing funds, renovating, embellishing and upgrading works honoring heroic martyrs in the area. At the same time, mobilizes mass organizations from district to commune, schools to organize care, sanitation, create green, clean and beautiful landscapes, and educate the tradition of "Drinking water, remember its source" for students in the district.

Comrade Hoang Manh Hung - Head of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Tan Son district said: "In the coming time, the Department will continue to advise the Party Committee and the government to focus on better implementing the Ordinance on Preferential Treatment for People with Meritorious Services to the Revolution, other policies and incentives on the economy and society for people with meritorious services and their relatives. In addition, pay attention to education, training, vocational training, loans, job creation, and practical assistance for people with meritorious services and their children. At the same time, urgently review, verify, and basically resolve the remaining files to resolve the policies and regimes for people with meritorious services and their relatives in the following years."

In the atmosphere of the July days, the whole country turns to pay tribute to the great contributions of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers... the young generation is more aware and understanding than ever the great sacrifices of previous generations to always strive, practice morality, revolutionary ideals, and build the homeland of Tan Son to be more and more beautiful.
