Focus on building a draft resolution on cultural revival and development

This is one of the notes of Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the 4th Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2025 of this ministry, which took place on the morning of September 25 in Hanoi.

Contributions to national achievements

Speaking at the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that following Uncle Ho's teachings, over the years, the patriotic emulation movement has always developed strongly and widely, encouraging and motivating the whole nation to strive to overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving great achievements.

Contributing to the emulation movement and those achievements of the country has the active role of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism . The first achievement of the cultural sector in recent years is to continue to strongly transform the mindset from "doing culture" to "state management of culture".

The work of preserving, embellishing and promoting traditional cultural values ​​and cultural heritage has achieved many results. Many valuable cultural heritages of Vietnam have been recognized and listed by UNESCO.

Many major cultural events were successfully organized, mobilizing the participation of the masses. Cultural industries continued to develop.

Tourism has recovered strongly after the pandemic. Mass sports continue to thrive, spreading to all ages and regions. High-performance sports have achieved some positive results.

In particular, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has successfully coordinated to organize many major events of the country such as: 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; 50th Anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification; 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested that in the coming time, the culture, sports and tourism sectors continue to unite and make efforts, turning the emulation movement into a driving force for innovation, creativity and dedication.

Basically agreeing with the direction, tasks and solutions set forth by the Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long noted some additional contents.

1. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism needs to focus on drafting a resolution of the Politburo on reviving and developing Vietnamese culture in the new era. The Ministry also needs to soon decide on investment in the national target program on cultural development according to its authority.

2. Develop sustainable, creative, professional, civilized tourism to become a spearhead economic sector.

3. Promote the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", linking physical training and sports competition with improving health, stature and quality of human resources.

4. Further promote the role of press and publishing as a sharp tool of the Party and State on the ideological and cultural front, a trusted forum for the people and a bridge to promote Vietnam's image to the world...

Compete to build a cultural environment in all fields

Reporting at the Congress, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said that emulation movements have increasingly seen good models, creative approaches, and typical factors in each field of work.

Over the past 5 years, the Ministry has presented nearly 400 Labor Medals, nearly 800 Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, 26 collectives were awarded the "Emulation Flag of the Government". The President awarded 16 Ho Chi Minh Awards, 112 State Awards, 124 People's Artists, 268 Meritorious Artists, 65 People's Artisans, 563 Meritorious Artisans.

In particular, at the 80th Anniversary of the Industry's Traditional Day, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism was awarded the First Class Labor Medal - a noble award recognizing outstanding achievements in the 2021-2025 period and many other forms of commendation from the Central to the grassroots level.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that the implementation of patriotic emulation movements plays a very important role, constituting internal strength, arousing and strongly awakening the desire to contribute of each organization, each unit, each individual.

He requested a deep and thorough understanding of the position and role of patriotic emulation movements: Emulating to give correct, timely and creative advice, creating an increasingly synchronous system of institutions and legal policies, creating development for ministries and branches.

Compete to create unique and humanistic works of art that reflect the depth of political, economic, cultural and social life of the country and the times.

Compete to build a cultural environment in all fields - from office culture, press culture, business culture, political culture, to cultural life in each residential area and neighborhood group - increasingly civilized, friendly, rich in identity...

At the congress, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long awarded the title of Labor Hero to Coach Mai Duc Chung.

Authorized by the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and Minister Nguyen Van Hung presented the Government's Emulation Flag to three groups: the Department of Organization and Personnel, the Department of Cultural Heritage and the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater.

At the Congress, Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism were also awarded to 21 collectives and 57 individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2021-2025 period.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy also launched the Patriotic Emulation Movement of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the period 2025-2030.
