All universities announced admission scores this afternoon.

After 10 virtual filtering rounds, more than 200 universities will simultaneously announce their 2025 admission scores from around 12:30 to 5:00 pm this afternoon.

The total number of virtual filtering times is 4 more than the original plan of the Ministry of Education and Training , to ensure the most accurate results from the huge amount of data from candidates and schools.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology - the host of the Northern virtual filtering group, said it will announce the admission results at 4 p.m., National Economics University at nearly 5 p.m....

Successful candidates must confirm their admission online on the Ministry’s common system, no later than 5 p.m. on August 30. This is a mandatory step if candidates want to study. Many schools may add a separate admission step and welcome students directly.

This year, nearly 850,000 candidates registered for university entrance exams, with about 7.6 million applications. Many schools recorded 2-2.5 times more applicants than last year.

With the high school graduation exam score distribution, most universities predict that the admission scores will decrease. However, after the virtual screening session on August 21, many schools in the southern region realized that the admission scores may increase.

As at the University of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, the expected input for key fields such as Artificial Intelligence and Microchip Design will increase sharply, contrary to initial predictions.

Many school representatives said the final results could still change a lot after the final virtual screening session today.

In the North, most of them could not make a forecast until yesterday afternoon. Before the postponement of the benchmark announcement, this group had only run two of the six virtual filtering rounds according to the Ministry's original plan.

Tuition fees for more than 130 universities

This year’s university admissions season has set many records. There are a total of 344 admission combinations, with 7.6 million candidates applying – meaning each student has an average of 9 options, compared to only about 5 in previous years.

In previous years, most schools calculated admission scores based on the sum of three subjects in the combination plus priority points, certificate conversion points or excellent student achievements. Few schools had their own formulas such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. This year, most schools have their own scoring formulas, because in addition to exam scores, they also base on students' academic results from previous courses, the school's characteristics...

The above changes are due to the fact that the 2025 high school graduation exam will be the first time following the new general education program, with candidates taking two compulsory subjects and two elective subjects (out of nine subjects). The Ministry of Education and Training also stopped early admission, requiring schools to convert equivalent scores to a common scale (mainly the 30-point scale), and compulsory combinations must include Math or Literature.
