Taylor Fritz takes Djokovic's world number 4 spot

(Dan Tri) - After winning the Stuttgart Open 2025, Taylor Fritz rose to No. 4 on the ATP rankings and pushed Novak Djokovic down to No. 5.

Taylor Fritz jumped three places, reaching world number four for the first time in his career after winning the 2025 Stuttgart Open in Germany. This is the ninth ATP title of the American player's career.

Fritz defeated Alexander Zverev in the final with a score of 6-3, 7-6 on the evening of June 15 to extend his winning streak against the German player to 5. Taylor Fritz became the only American tennis player present in the current ATP top 4.

This achievement helped Fritz surpass Novak Djokovic, pushing the Serbian legend down to 5th place. The race for the world No. 4 position promises to be tense in the 2 weeks before the players enter Wimbledon 2025, which starts from June 30 to July 13.

Djokovic is trying to focus on the Grand Slams, but not participating in the smaller tournaments has caused him to be overtaken in the rankings by younger opponents. If he is not in the top 4, Nole risks meeting Sinner, Zverev or Alcaraz as early as the quarterfinals of Wimbledon 2025.
