Due to continuous heavy rain, the water level on the Cau River is rising, today and tonight (September 30), at Thac Gieng station, it is likely to reach alert level 2 to above alert level 2. On the Nang River at Ba Be gauging station, the flood level is likely to reach above alert level 2 to alert level 3.
Due to prolonged heavy rain and rising lake water levels, Thai Nguyen Irrigation Exploitation One Member Limited Liability Company said it will start discharging water through the spillway of Nui Coc Lake from 12:15 on September 30.
Accordingly, Nui Coc reservoir dam will open 5 spillway gates, with a discharge flow of about 250m3/second. The discharge will cause the water level of Cong river to rise, possibly affecting the communes and wards of Dai Phuc, Tan Cuong, Ba Xuyen, Song Cong, Pho Yen, Van Xuan, Trung Thanh, Phuc Thuan, Thanh Cong and downstream areas.
