Identify questions that need to be "drilled down"

Mr. Luu Huy Thuong (Master at Hanoi University of Science and Technology) said that through the reference exam questions and the official exam questions of the graduation exam in recent years, the knowledge content of the math exam mainly belongs to the 12th grade program (about 90%) including 7 topics: (1) Functions; (2) Powers - Exponents - Logarithms; (3) Antiderivatives, integrals and applications; (4) Complex numbers; (5) Polyhedra; (6) Solids of revolution; (7) Oxyz geometry. The knowledge content belongs to the 11th grade program, focusing on the topics: Combinations - Probability; Arithmetic progression - Geometric progression; Spatial geometry (angles and distances).

For each topic (except for the 11th grade knowledge content), there are questions at different levels from "easy to difficult". The score scale for each question is the same, whether easy or difficult, it is 0.2 points/question. Therefore, to do well on the graduation exam, students need to have a firm grasp of all the basic knowledge of the 12th grade program and some of the 11th grade topics.

Depending on each person's ability and score target, we determine the "depth" of knowledge needed to learn for each topic. For example, with a target of 8.5-9 points, first, you need to correctly complete the first 38-40 questions (mostly basic questions, covering all topics of the 12th grade program and part of 11th grade); for the remaining 10 questions, you can choose which type of question you will "dive into".

Common mistakes candidates make

Wrongly identifying the requirements and assumptions of the problem:

Wrong concepts: Candidates confuse concepts such as "extremum", "extremum point of a function", "extremum value of a function", "extremum point of a function". Wrongly considering the following types of shapes as one: Regular triangular prism with a prism with an equilateral triangular base or regular quadrilateral pyramid with a pyramid with a regular quadrilateral base, etc.

Miscalculation, wrong transformation, missing conditions:

Some reasons for mistakes: At home, they use a calculator for all calculations, but when taking exams, they do mental calculations; with basic exercises, they do them one way at home, but when taking exams, they create a new way.

Therefore, this teacher's advice is that with basic questions, you don't need to be creative when taking the exam. Just do the same thing when you review for the exam. It may take a little longer and be a little more tiring, but it's familiar, and having practiced will make fewer mistakes.

Regulating biological rhythms
With less than a week left until the high school graduation exam begins, Mr. Thuong said that the first thing students need to do during this period is to "re-adjust their biological rhythms."

During the accelerated learning process, many students are so engrossed that their biological rhythms are disrupted. They are wide awake at night and lethargic during the day, with their minds not alert. Therefore, candidates need to adjust their living and studying hours.

The strategy in this stage is to preserve your score. Make sure that every question you get right is correct. Eat well, exercise regularly and sleep at least 6 hours a day to have a clear mind and take the exam at the right time.

Candidates have worked hard during the past months, so the night before the exam, they need to go to bed early.

When doing the test, stay calm, do it from easy to difficult, from familiar to unfamiliar, avoid getting bogged down in strange and difficult questions. Absolutely, follow the method you have practiced with basic, familiar questions. Math is a multiple choice test, even if you cannot do it, you must choose all the answers to the questions.
