What documents do candidates need to bring when applying for the 2023 high school graduation exam?

At 2:00 p.m. today (June 27), candidates will be present at the exam site to complete exam procedures and correct errors (if any). The invigilators will inform candidates of the exam regulations, rules, exam requirements, the drum command to distribute the exam papers, take the exam and collect the exam papers... Candidates need to bring their ID card, pen, and exam paper for the 2023 high school graduation exam.

Tomorrow (June 28), students will take the Math and Literature exams. On June 29, candidates will take the Foreign Language exam and one of two combined exams: Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, Civic Education for general education; or History, Geography for continuing education).

This year, the whole country has 1,025,000 candidates registered for the high school graduation exam (about 24,000 more than last year). Of these, more than 917,700 students will use the exam results for both graduation and university admission. The number of candidates taking the exam for high school graduation only is more than 73,200. The number of candidates taking the exam for university admission is more than 34,200.

According to the new high school graduation exam regulations, the Ministry of Education and Training allows candidates to bring into the exam room pens, pencils, compasses, erasers, rulers, calculators; calculators without text editing functions, without memory cards; and Vietnam Geography Atlas for Geography (without marking or writing any other content).

Compared to last year, this regulation has two new points. First, candidates are no longer allowed to bring recording devices, even if they only have the function of recording information, but cannot view or transmit signals.

Second, the Ministry of Education and Training does not specify the list of pocket calculators like previous years, but only requires that the calculators "do not have word processing functions".

The examination regulations also clearly state that in each examination, marking and re-examination area of the examination council, there must be equipment to store and preserve the information receiving and transmitting equipment of those performing their duties there. These equipment must be sealed and managed/supervised by police officers .

Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination room during the multiple choice test. For essay tests, candidates may leave the examination room and examination area after 2/3 (two-thirds) of the examination time has elapsed, and must submit their examination papers, test papers, and scratch paper before leaving the examination room.

In case of necessity, candidates may only leave the examination room with permission from the invigilator and must be supervised by the corridor supervisor. Candidates leaving the examination room or examination area in case of emergency must be supervised by the police until the end of the examination session and will be decided by the head of the examination site.
