On July 8, news from the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC-CNCH) of Dak Lak Provincial Police said the unit is actively searching for a teenager who went missing after going fishing in the Serepok River.
Previously, on the afternoon of July 2, NDBN (17 years old, residing in Ea So commune, Ea Kar district, Dak Lak) and 2 friends went fishing on the Serepok river, downstream of the Dray Hling hydropower plant.
While fishing, due to the low water level, N. went to the middle of the river. A while later, the water from upstream poured in strongly, N. was unable to get to the shore in time and was swept away by the river water, and went missing.
Authorities are actively searching for the victim on the Serepok River.
Ms. NTT (N.'s mother) said that after receiving the news that her son was swept away by the water, she reported to the authorities for assistance in the search. However, after 6 days, her son's whereabouts have not been found.
According to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, after receiving the news, the unit mobilized dozens of officers, soldiers and vehicles to actively search for the victim. However, the area where the victim went missing has rugged terrain, many trees, rocky outcrops, many sections of fast-flowing water, with a depth of tens of meters, making the search difficult. "Currently, we are still sending forces and vehicles to stand guard at the scene, actively searching for the victim's whereabouts," said the leader of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department.
