With the increasing awareness and demands of consumers when using services and purchasing goods, in recent years, production and business units in the province, especially enterprises in the retail sector, have become more and more aware of their responsibility in protecting consumer rights. Many enterprises consider this a core factor to help them build their reputation and brand, towards sustainable development.

Director of HC Thanh Hoa Electronics Supermarket Dinh Huu Thuan said: “HC can only exist when it is trusted by customers, so we always choose large, reputable partners to cooperate with. We have chosen good quality products, with full certificates of origin, quality and good warranty policies to help customers feel secure when purchasing as well as during use.”

Regarding sales and after-sales policies, the supermarket almost updates, integrates and deploys most of the modern and flexible shopping utilities available on the market, such as card points accumulation, additional discounts, support for customers to buy in installments with 0% interest, free home delivery, genuine home warranty...

“Responding to the peak occasion of Vietnam Consumer Rights Day on March 15, we are launching a promotion program from March 11 to March 31 with about 100 product codes with direct discounts of up to 70%. Many products come with additional gifts, card points deducted up to 5% of the order value; 0% interest installment purchase; free delivery and installation up to 50km; old-for-new exchange program, additional 5% discount applied to some TV codes... with the hope that customers can access and use genuine products with cheap prices and the best policies”, Mr. Thuan added.

After nearly 4 years of presence in Thanh Hoa market, The City Supermarket system has become a familiar shopping destination for consumers in rural areas of Tho Xuan, Yen Dinh, Trieu Son, Hoang Hoa districts... The reason for this success is thanks to the operating motto of protecting consumer rights and also protecting the development of enterprises. Along with the constant improvement and upgrading of the increasingly modern and convenient business model, the operation, inspection and sales processes are always carried out methodically and strictly by the supermarket to ensure the best quality of goods to consumers. According to the representative of this supermarket system, all items put into retail business are inspected and quality assured to bring prestige to the entire system.

However, in addition to positive changes in consumer protection, violations of consumer rights, especially in remote transactions and transactions in the electronic environment, still occur. There are still businesses that, for profit, produce, trade, and provide poor quality goods and services. In the context of the increasingly competitive consumer goods market and many impacts due to epidemics and economic inflation, enhancing the responsibility of businesses in protecting consumer rights is becoming an urgent requirement.

According to the Law on Consumer Protection 2023, effective from July 1, 2024, the responsibilities of business organizations and individuals towards consumers are very specifically regulated. In particular, business organizations and individuals must ensure the safety, measurement, quantity, volume, quality, and uses of products, goods, and services sold and provided to consumers in accordance with the registered, notified, announced, listed, advertised, introduced, contracted, committed, or as prescribed by law; at the same time, they must warn about products, goods, and services that are likely to cause insecurity, adversely affect the life, health, and property of consumers, and notify about preventive measures as prescribed by law.

Along with that, in the Project on Enterprises for Consumers for the period 2021-2025 issued and implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Program "Enterprises for Consumers" in the retail sector is being implemented, which is also an activity to help enterprises self-assess their compliance with the law and ethical codes of conduct towards consumers. From there, enterprises can improve themselves to improve their responsibility towards consumers as well as their competitiveness.
