The Hanoi Police Club's homepage wrote: "What we have been waiting for. Congratulations to Filip Nguyen on officially obtaining Vietnamese citizenship."
With nationality, goalkeeper Filip Nguyen will have the opportunity to be called up by head coach Philippe Troussier to the Vietnam national team in the upcoming training sessions.
In the immediate future, the goalkeeper of the Hanoi Police Club may be registered in the preliminary list to prepare for the 2023 Asian Cup finals taking place in January 2024.

Goalkeeper Filip Nguyen was called up to the Czech Republic national team in September 2020. However, he has not had the opportunity to wear the shirt of this European team. While playing for Slovan Liberec Club, the goalkeeper born in 1992 played in the UEFA Europa League in the 2020/21 season.
In June 2023, Filip Nguyen officially joined Hanoi Police Club as a free transfer with a 3-year contract.
