On the morning of September 9, at the Ministry of Health, the launching ceremony of the 4th I Am Healthier and More Beautiful contest was held, organized by the Health & Life Newspaper.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health , said that health is an invaluable asset, the "root" of all happiness, and at the same time one of the fundamental factors determining the prosperity of the nation.
General Secretary To Lam has also repeatedly emphasized that the health sector needs to strongly innovate its thinking, shifting its focus from treatment to proactive disease prevention, taking community health improvement as the center, and building a solid "medical shield" early and from afar.

“That is not only the strategic direction of the health sector, but also a reminder for each of us to proactively preserve and build our own health. One of the most fundamental solutions to realize that vision is to change awareness and behavior, form a positive lifestyle, eat scientifically, exercise regularly...”, Deputy Minister Thuan said.
Therefore, I am healthier and more beautiful is not just a contest, but has truly become a vibrant social movement. Each contestant, each journey is a vivid proof of the philosophy of “prevention is better than cure”.
According to the Deputy Minister, it is also a reminder that health starts from the simplest things: a balanced meal, enough sleep, one step a day.
Professor Dr. Tran Thanh Duong, Director of the National Institute of Nutrition, added that nutrition is not just the act of eating and drinking, but also, more importantly, the quality of the race, stature, and intelligence of a nation. At that time, nutrition is an extremely important issue.

Japan recognized this problem early on, so since 1947, they had a law on nutrition and have persistently implemented scientific, balanced, and appropriate nutritional activities for the people.
“Up to now, the Japanese have improved their physical strength and height. In the past, we used to say that the Japanese were short, but now they are tall. The average height of Japanese men is 1.74m. Thus, they have significantly extended their life expectancy, working age and reduced non-communicable diseases, which the whole world must learn from,” said Professor Duong.
The I am healthier and more beautiful contest consists of 3 rounds, lasting from September 9 to December 25. The Organizing Committee will select 12 best candidates to honor at the closing and award ceremony.
The Grand Prize is worth 50 million VND, the First Prize is 30 million VND. In addition, there are 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, 5 Fourth Prizes and other prizes for most views, most effort, and most inspirational story.
