On the morning of May 30, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long chaired a working session with leaders of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV).

Accordingly, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long chaired a working session with TKV leaders on tasks and solutions related to coal production and business activities and coal supply for electricity production to ensure meeting the economic growth target in 2025 and the 2026-2030 period.

Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of specialized units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade: Department of Oil, Gas and Coal; Department of Planning, Finance and Enterprise Management; Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion; Department of Industry; Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment; Department of Electricity and leaders of TKV.

At the meeting, TKV leaders reported on the contents related to coal production and business activities and coal supply for electricity production in 2025 and the following years, and proposed solutions and recommendations to ensure meeting the economic growth target in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030.

The recommendations have been commented on by the functional Departments and Offices of the Ministry, proposing specific and practical solutions to remove and support difficulties and obstacles. Some recommendations need further research to have feasible and effective solutions that comply with legal regulations.

At the end of the working session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long highly appreciated the results of TKV and the efforts of the units in implementing coal production and business activities and supplying coal for electricity production to ensure meeting the economic growth target in the past time.

In order to complete tasks and solutions related to coal production and business activities and coal supply for electricity production to ensure meeting the economic growth target in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030, the Deputy Minister requested the units:

Firstly, strictly, resolutely and effectively implement the contents and tasks assigned in Directive No. 01/CT-TTg dated January 3, 2025 of the Prime Minister on proactive solutions to ensure adequate electricity supply for production, business and people's lives during peak periods in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030; Directive No. 02/CT-BCT dated January 23, 2025 of the Minister of Industry and Trade on ensuring electricity supply during peak periods in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030.

Telegram No. 1822/CD-BCT dated March 15, 2025 on ensuring safe and stable operation of power plants in the coming time; direction of the Minister of Industry and Trade in the Decisions approving the Plan for electricity supply and operation of the national power system in 2025, the coal supply chart for electricity production in 2025 and in other relevant directive documents.

Second, relevant units in the Ministry continue to closely coordinate with TKV and study, support, and resolve TKV's proposals and recommendations according to their authority, functions, and assigned tasks.

Third, the Department of Oil, Gas and Coal shall preside over and coordinate with relevant units in the Ministry, TKV and relevant units to urgently draft a new Directive to replace Directive No. 29/CT-TTg dated December 2, 2019 of the Prime Minister in accordance with the conditions and requirements of socio-economic development in the new situation under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son in Document No. 4239/VPCP-CN dated May 15, 2025 of the Government Office.

It proposes specific solutions associated with the responsibilities of ministries, branches, localities and enterprises related to coal production and business activities and coal supply and use for electricity production.

Over the past time, TKV and its member units have closely followed the leadership of the Party, Government, Prime Minister and central ministries and branches; proactively implemented solutions to ensure sufficient coal supply for electricity production and strive for growth of over 8% in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030; built feasible scenarios to promote plans to increase coal and mineral output; increased production efficiency, trading of mechanical products, electricity production, chemicals; promoted investment work...
