Coming to Tien Yen in early spring, people and tourists will experience many interesting things at festivals and folk games with unique local identities where many ethnic minorities live.

Dong Dinh Communal House Festival 2025 will take place on February 8 and 9.

Tien Yen is a land with a long-standing and rich culture, with 13 ethnic groups living together such as: Kinh, Dao, Tay, San Diu, San Chi, Hoa, Thai, Cao Lan... so it has a diverse and unique art culture.

Notably, on February 8 and 9, visitors and locals will experience the Tay Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival in Tien Yen district and the Dong Dinh Communal House Festival in 2025. Here, locals and visitors will learn more about the culture of the Tay ethnic group, and experience cultural and sports activities such as: Stick pushing, tug of war, crossbow shooting, shuttlecock throwing, men's and women's volleyball competitions, men's raft racing on the Dong Dinh River...

Along with that, there will be exchanges of Then singing, Tinh lute, Tay ethnic costume performance, Sap dancing, and fire festival with the Tay ethnic community in Binh Lieu district. In addition, visitors will see the reenactment of the "Long Tong Ceremony" at the festival. In the series of activities taking place at the festival, visitors will enjoy typical local dishes at OCOP booths, cuisine and Tay ethnic culture exhibition space.

Coming to Dai Duc commune (Tien Yen district), visitors will be able to watch exciting matches of San Chi girls.

In addition to the Dong Dinh Communal House Festival, visitors will experience the 2025 Dao Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival associated with the opening of the Ha Lau Highland Cultural Market taking place in early April. This is a festival with unique customs and practices of the Dao ethnic community in Tien Yen district. Coming to the festival, visitors will see the reenactment of the Coming of Age Ceremony and the Bride Procession Ceremony of the Dao people.

Notably, visitors can rent ethnic costumes to check-in at Ha Lau Market, Bac Lu suspension bridge (Bac Lu village), Khe Lieng suspension bridge (Co Muoi village - Khe Lieng), flower palace in Bac Lu village and participate in games such as blindfolded chicken catching, blindfolded pot smashing; raft swimming on Pho Cu river (Ha Lau commune). At the same time, watch the typical cultural exchange performances of the Dao people and sports: Tug of war, stick pushing, crossbow shooting between men and women, stilt walking between men and women, women's football exchange, Dao ethnic costume performance, bamboo dancing...

Coming to the highland communes of Tien Yen district in the early days of spring, visitors will also experience many cultural activities in the communes and towns, from traditional sports such as tug of war, stick pushing, spinning top, crossbow shooting, Chinese chess, human chess... to modern sports such as football, table tennis... In particular, in some highland communes such as Ha Lau, Phong Du, Dai Duc, there are also activities that are imbued with the traditional cultural identity of ethnic minorities such as singing Soong Co, singing Then... and watching exciting football matches of local girls.

In recent times, Tien Yen has been a locality that has done a good job in state management of festivals, restoring traditional festivals, actively preserving and conserving the invaluable values ​​and assets of the community by implementing many projects to preserve the cultural identity of ethnic groups associated with tourism development. Festivals have become an indispensable part of the spiritual and cultural life of the people here, especially during the holidays and New Year and have become familiar to a large number of tourists from all over the world. Thereby, helping people and tourists learn more about the history, customs, and traditional values ​​of ethnic minorities, contributing to enhancing solidarity among ethnic groups in the district in particular and in Quang Ninh in general.
