On the morning of September 5 (Vietnam time), Brazil faced Chile in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match in South America. With home field advantage, Selecao easily overwhelmed their opponents and won convincingly.

In the 18th minute, after a cross into the penalty area from a teammate, Joao Pedro jumped high to receive the ball and headed it but failed. After the ball, striker Joao Pedro lost his momentum and rushed straight into teammate Gabriel Martinelli.

The Chelsea striker fell to the ground and vomited. The incident caused concern for the coaching staff and Brazilian fans. Pedro had to be attended to by medical staff.

Slow motion replays showed that Martinelli's hand hit Pedro's stomach in the collision. Fortunately, Joao Pedro was not seriously injured and he quickly recovered to continue playing.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti's team showed their class by pushing up the formation and constantly pressuring the opponent. After unsuccessful attacks, Brazil scored the opening goal in the 38th minute before the end of the first half.
