Adopt many advanced techniques
Khanh Hoa General Hospital is a pioneer in international cooperation in the medical field. Every year, the hospital welcomes dozens of delegations of experts from Japan, China, France, the US, etc. to exchange, learn, share experiences, support training and transfer techniques. Thanks to that, many advanced techniques in the fields of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, urology, nephrology, pediatrics, spine, etc. have been mastered by the hospital's doctors, creating an important step forward in disease treatment.

Most recently, Khanh Hoa General Hospital collaborated with Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital (Taiwan, China) to organize an international scientific conference on orthopedic surgery. This is an opportunity for doctors to access in-depth knowledge, share experiences and discuss complex cases, opening up many new treatment directions, especially the application of modern techniques such as 3D printing and individualized surgery. In the past 10 years, with professional support from Professor Nguyen Nam - Head of the Department of Surgery at Los Angeles Children's Hospital (USA), the team of doctors and physicians of the Department of General Surgery at Khanh Hoa General Hospital has received and successfully implemented many advanced techniques to treat complex malformations in children with biliary tract diseases, intestinal diseases, anal malformations, diaphragmatic hernias... Along with that, through the signing of a cooperation agreement in the medical field called "Born and raised in Vietnam" with the Southern Brittany Hospital Group (France), the hospital's team of doctors and physicians are supported to improve their professional capacity in the field of women's care from before to after giving birth; training in modern techniques and new specialties through internship courses, seminars, field trips, remote consultations...
At Hospital 22-12 (Nha Trang ward), in September, the hospital received the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) technique - a breakthrough in early diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal cancer from Japanese experts. Professor, Dr. Tomohiko Richard Ohya - Consultant of the Endoscopy Department at Jikei University Hospital, Japan shared: "Training plays a very important role, especially through modern simulation models, helping doctors quickly improve their skills. Expanding the training program and properly instructing endoscopy will contribute to detecting more cancer cases earlier instead of waiting until the patient has symptoms. Therefore, it can be said that international cooperation in training and technology transfer is extremely necessary."
Promote international cooperation
Dr. Phan Huu Chinh - Director of Khanh Hoa General Hospital said: “In recent years, the hospital has promoted cooperation with many hospitals in the region and internationally. We send doctors to participate in short-term training courses abroad; at the same time, we welcome experts to train, teach and participate in seminars at the hospital. This activity not only aims to improve the quality of health care for the people, but also helps the hospital's medical staff to exchange and expand international cooperation relationships, and have many new directions in disease treatment”.
Yersin Nha Trang General Hospital welcomed a delegation of French doctors to discuss the treatment of autism spectrum disorders in children. |
As a presenter at the international scientific conference on orthopedic surgery held at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, Dr. Kai-Cheng Lin from Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital (Taiwan, China) shared: “The cooperative relationship between the two hospitals has been established with many practical activities such as training, professional exchange and sending doctors to study. This conference is an opportunity for doctors from Taiwan (China), Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa to discuss, share experiences, and find solutions for difficult cases - which are big challenges in both countries. This is truly a valuable opportunity to improve the quality of treatment. I believe that this cooperation will become increasingly strong, bringing many good, long-term results.”
International cooperation in the field of health is a solution for the Khanh Hoa health sector to shorten the gap in accessing and developing advanced treatment techniques in the world. Currently, the province has 15 general and specialized hospitals at the provincial level, 13 reserve units, and 15 regional health centers. In addition to public hospitals, the province also has Military Hospital 87 and 5 private hospitals. With the existing potential and on the basis of the orientation of health development in Khanh Hoa province according to Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the provincial health sector has been building and calling for international cooperation in the field of developing a tourism model combined with medical examination and treatment and human resource training. At the same time, cooperation in developing specialized and modern techniques in a number of fields, such as: Cardiovascular, orthopedic trauma, oncology...
In the context of increasingly complex disease situations, promoting international cooperation, seeking support in training and applying technology in medical examination, treatment and health care for the people is practical. This is both an immediate solution and a long-term foundation for the Khanh Hoa health sector to develop sustainably and integrate deeply into the region and the world.
