Supporting exam season on 'the most beautiful street in Hanoi'

TPO - Nguyen Phuong Trang - a member of the International School volunteer team, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, participated in the Exam Support Program for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam at a famous school located on one of the most beautiful streets in Hanoi.

Nguyen Phuong Trang, a student of the Faculty of Management Economics at the International School, was excited to wear the green shirt for the first time to participate in the "Exam Support" activities at Phan Dinh Phung High School (Ba Dinh, Hanoi). The activity location was nearly 15 kilometers from her home and the team was required to gather at 5:30 am.

She shared: “I am very excited to have the opportunity to contribute to supporting candidates entering the important exam, especially to work at a school famous for its landscape and rich history, located on the green Phan Dinh Phung street - one of the most beautiful in Hanoi ”.

On the first day of the exam, Trang and the volunteers lined up to cheer and encourage the candidates with good wishes, applause, and cool bottles of water...

Nguyen My An - Deputy Head of the volunteer student team "Supporting exam season" at the International School, at Phan Dinh Phung High School, said that the team has 50 members from many faculties of the school.

To be ready to welcome, support and assist candidates and their families, on exam days, members gather at 5:30 am and 1:30 pm. Volunteers participate in ensuring order, coordinating traffic and cleaning the area outside the exam site; providing water, cakes and school supplies for candidates.

“The happiest thing for me and my team members is to be able to help candidates relax, feel secure and confident entering the exam; and to receive feedback from candidates through gestures, words or bright smiles,” said Nguyen My An.

Just a nod and a smile from the candidate

Nguyen Quang Minh is a member of the Hanoi Open University volunteer team participating in the Exam Support Campaign for the 2025 High School Graduation Exam at Phuong Mai Secondary School (Dong Da District, Hanoi). This is the second time he has participated in the “relay” and had a memorable performance when he carried a candidate with a broken leg from the school gate to the exam room.

The male student said that he had broken his leg and had difficulty moving. In many cases, he needed help from others, so we sympathized and wanted to support and encourage him mentally so that he could comfortably enter an important exam.

“In particular, I was once a candidate who went through stressful exams such as the 10th grade entrance exam, high school graduation exam and received support and encouragement from volunteers. These impressions motivated me to become a part of the Exam Support Program, to spread positive energy to candidates. I am very happy to be able to support you,” he said.

Wearing the green shirt "Supporting the exam season", Nguyen Quang Minh and his teammates, regardless of the sun or rain, arrived early at the exam site to be ready to help candidates and their families, from giving out water, supporting school supplies, guiding the location... to cheering and encouraging.

“What makes me most touched is when I receive words of thanks, inquiries, and conversations from parents and candidates. Just a word of thanks, thank you, brother or sister… or a nod and smile from the candidates before entering the exam room is enough to make us volunteers happy and try harder,” Minh expressed.

According to the Hanoi City Youth Union - Student Association, from June 25 to 28, in Hanoi, the 2025 high school graduation exam took place with more than 120,000 candidates registering to take the exam at 233 exam sites. More than 8,000 volunteers were arranged at the exam sites to cheer and support the candidates "passing the gate", ensuring that each school gate had 25-30 volunteers to direct traffic, guide candidates, provide drinking water and help find exam rooms.
