On November 6, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs (HTGĐLS) of Thanh Thuy district held a meeting to celebrate 10 years of activities to pay tribute to martyrs and their families.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung - President of Vietnam Association of Family Law Associations; Nguyen Huu Dien - Former Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Honorary President of the Provincial Association of Family Law Associations; leaders of the Provincial Association of Family Law Associations.

Originating from the concern of the whole society when the war had ended but many families still did not know information about the sacrifices and graves of their loved ones, many martyrs still had incorrect information... in 2014, 30 volunteers of Thanh Thuy district including war veterans and relatives of martyrs established the HTGĐLS club to support relatives and families of martyrs in searching and moving remains to their hometown cemetery for burial.
In January 2018, the Thanh Thuy District Association of Family and Friends was officially established with 37 members. To date, there are 26 members participating in regular activities. For the sake of comradeship, over the past 10 years, the Association has advised on policies related to martyrs and their families for over 1,000 relatives and families of martyrs in 9 communes and towns in the district; corrected incorrect information on tombstones for over 80 cases; requested the Policy Committee (Provincial Military Command) to confirm information about the place where martyrs died in over 200 cases.
The Association has organized 37 trips to over 600 martyr cemeteries from North to South, to Cambodia to collect information and take photos of nearly 3,000 martyr graves in the province. The Association has coordinated with martyr families in Thanh Thuy and Tam Nong districts to welcome nearly 60 martyrs' remains back to their homeland; mobilized and supported nearly 1.2 billion VND to support gratitude activities.
Leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of Martyrs and Martyrs presented gifts to relatives of martyrs.
Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung suggested that in the coming time, the Thanh Thuy District Association of Martyrs and Martyrs continue to promote activities to pay tribute to martyrs and their families; at the same time, properly resolve the relationship with the district's departments, organizations and unions; strengthen the Executive Committee of the Association, closely following the purpose, principles and regulations of operation; further promote the role of the leader in coordinating the organization of memorial services and burial of martyrs' remains more closely; at the same time, the Association needs to comply with reports more regularly; strengthen propaganda and mobilize the building of affiliated organizations of the district to participate in the work of paying tribute.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Association of Family and War Veterans awarded Certificates of Merit to 1 collective and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing the Association and activities honoring martyrs in the period 2014-2024, along with 10 gifts for relatives of martyrs' families in the district. Many individuals who successfully completed the task of building the Association and honoring martyrs and martyrs' families in the period 2014-2024 were also awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial Association of Family and War Veterans.
