The central exchange rate has reached its highest level ever, pushing up the USD price listed at commercial banks as well as the free market.

Last weekend, the USD reached a new “peak” when the central exchange rate announced by the State Bank reached its highest level in history: 25,031 VND/USD (June 20). However, it is worth mentioning that the domestic exchange rate moved in the opposite direction to the world market.

Economist , Dr. Can Van Luc, said that the USD/VND exchange rate in 2025 will increase by about 3%, reflecting the relative depreciation of the Vietnamese Dong compared to the USD, in line with global economic developments and internal factors.

In the context of Hanoi building a breakthrough resolution on the mechanism to attract high-tech human resources to work in the High-Tech Park, the question is: What should Hoa Lac do to become a place to converge intelligence and spread innovation?

Deputy Head of the Management Board of Hanoi High-Tech Parks and Industrial Parks Le Thanh Son informed that Hoa Lac High-Tech Park is seriously lacking qualified workers, especially leading experts, PhDs, good engineers and specialized research groups.

Prof. Dr. Bui Thi Minh Hong, Director of Education Management, VinUni University, Vice President of VinFuture Fund emphasized: “The first thing I care about is not salary, but whether that unit has a big vision and is solving really challenging problems or not”.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son said that this is a golden time for Hanoi to make a breakthrough, because Hoa Lac High-Tech Park is not only an economic development project but must become a "space for crystallization of intelligence", a place where domestic and foreign elites converge.

Hanoi Moi Newspaper reporter interviewed Director of Hanoi Department of Home Affairs Tran Dinh Canh about the preparation for this breakthrough step.

The trial operation is an important premise to prepare for the commune-level government apparatus to officially come into operation from July 1, 2025.

The task of serving citizens and organizations in handling administrative procedures is the number one priority, ensuring that all administrative procedures are smooth, timely, and uninterrupted. In particular, essential tasks related to people's lives are taken care of and resolved immediately.

The city leaders have directed the completion of the issuance of new seals for all agencies and units to create the most favorable conditions and readiness for administrative activities as well as the settlement of administrative procedures at the commune level under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security.

A survey by the City People's Council in a number of localities shows that Hanoi is facing many challenges in ensuring food safety.

Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Kieu Oanh informed that in the city there are currently 451 traditional markets distributing and supplying 60% of the food needs of the capital's people.

However, quality control of food in circulation at the market is not carried out regularly, most businesses at the market do not keep records related to the origin of the food they sell, especially for fresh food items.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Health Vu Cao Cuong said that currently there is still a lack of national technical standards and regulations for food products. Therefore, production and business establishments will have difficulty in self-declaring their products, and state management agencies will also have difficulty in monitoring, inspecting, and post-auditing the self-declaration of production and business establishments.
