- For 3 days (from November 16 to 18), at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Dong Mo, Son Tay, Hanoi), the 7th Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups took place in 2024.
The festival has the participation of more than 400 artisans, artists, actors who are Tay, Nung, Thai ethnic people living, studying, and working in 14 provinces and cities. Of which, Lang Son province has 25 artisans, artists, and actors participating.
At this festival, many attractive activities took place such as: exhibition space to introduce traditional cultural products of localities participating in the festival; photo exhibition "Heritage of Then singing - Tinh lute art"; thematic exhibition "Then cultural heritage in the life of Tay, Nung, Thai ethnic groups"; performance to introduce the art of Then singing, Tinh lute...
Accordingly, Lang Son delegation participated in 4 categories and won 7 awards, including 4 A prizes, 2 B prizes and 1 C prize.
Specifically, 4 A prizes include: the ancient Then Nung performance: "Khun khau khau hai - len nui khau nui trang" and the ancient Then Tay excerpt: "Cho khoan - Goi via" in the performance content introducing the art of Then singing, Tinh lute and the content of displaying, processing and introducing traditional ethnic cuisine; the content of the display space, introducing traditional cultural products of Xu Lang. 2 B prizes include the Then singing and dancing performance "Cam slang van xuan" and the performance activity of the traditional brocade weaving and Tinh lute making of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups. The only C prize belongs to the ritual excerpt: "Lau Then khai quang cap sac".
It is known that this is the opening activity in a series of activities of the Week "National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" in 2024 organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 14 provinces and cities: Hanoi, Bac Giang, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Dak Nong, Dak Lak and Lam Dong.
The festival is a meaningful event, contributing to introducing and promoting the cultural heritage values of ethnic groups in Lang Son province to domestic and international friends.
