Ho Chi Minh City opens AI training class for award-winning students

VHO - On the afternoon of July 23, at the University of Natural Sciences (VNU-HCM), the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of a training course on artificial intelligence (AI) for students who won prizes in competitions in Ho Chi Minh City.

The program aims to implement the policy of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and People's Committee on promoting research, development and application of artificial intelligence, while contributing to building a high-quality human resource team to serve digital transformation and the 4.0 industrial revolution.

In 2025, the program will be piloted with 4 training classes, including 2 classes for middle school students with the topic " Discovering AI with Python" and 2 classes for high school students with the topic "Python programming and practical applications".

A total of 203 students were admitted, including 113 high school students and 90 middle school students, from typical schools in the city such as Gifted High School (VNU-HCM), Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, Le Hong Phong High School, Tran Phu Middle School, Le Quy Don Middle School, Saigon Practice School, and many other public, private and international schools.

The class for middle school students focuses on content such as: basic Python programming, simple algorithms, matrix manipulation, basic probability, building chatbots, mini search systems and completing products in groups.

Meanwhile, high school students will have access to more in-depth knowledge such as: advanced Python programming, data processing and analysis, Machine Learning models and building AI application games...

Students are trained in many practical topics.

Through the program, students will be equipped with basic knowledge, improve technological thinking and project presentation skills.

Besides, early detection and training of young talents in the field of artificial intelligence is also an important step towards forming a high-quality science and technology human resource force for Ho Chi Minh City in the future.

The program has the participation of a team of prestigious lecturers, with well-designed training content and methods. This is a pilot activity with practical significance, aiming to replicate the AI ​​training model for high school students throughout Ho Chi Minh City in the following years.
