Confession of a teacher who hired two substitute teachers for more than a year

(Dan Tri) - A male teacher in Gia Lai hired someone to replace him in class because he could not keep up with the educational reform program, despite his efforts to improve his skills.

On December 10, Mr. Ro Cham Thom, a teacher at Ia Mo Nong Primary and Secondary School, Chu Pah District, Gia Lai Province, explained that he was disciplined for asking someone else to teach in his place.

According to Mr. Thom, in the village, he was lucky to go to school and finish grade 9. After that, he continued to study at the Gia Lai Pedagogical College and then asked to go to Chu Pah district to teach.

From 2008 to 2021, he was assigned to teach at Dak To Ve Primary School, Chu Pah District. In 2021, he returned to work at Ia Mo Nong Primary and Secondary School.

At that time, the work of mobilizing students encountered many difficulties. With the advantage of being a local, he enthusiastically mobilized students and enthusiastically participated in teaching literacy classes for the people.

Due to the change in the new program, Mr. Thom had difficulty updating his knowledge. He also admitted that he was from the older generation, not familiar with information technology and computers, although he always tried to learn from his colleagues.

To effectively impart knowledge to students, he asked Ms. BTH, a teacher at the same school, and another teacher from outside the school to teach the class instead. Every month, he used his salary to pay the teachers.

Sympathizing with Mr. Thom's situation, the school created conditions to help him maintain his teaching to have enough time off according to the regime.

Representatives of Ia Mo Nong Primary and Secondary School informed that Mr. Thom will continue teaching according to assigned tasks. At the same time, he is also in the process of streamlining the payroll.

As reported by Dan Tri , the inspection team of the People's Committee of Chu Pah district has just discovered that Mr. Ro Cham Thom, a primary school teacher, had stopped teaching from September 2022 to December 2023 but still received salary and allowances.

Mr. Thom hired two other people to teach instead and paid nearly 7 million VND/month for each person.

Mr. Thom explained to the inspection team that he did not have a high school diploma and the curriculum was too demanding for his ability. Therefore, he proposed and the school agreed to hire a teaching assistant.
