On the afternoon of October 25, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Le Minh Hoan chaired an online conference with ministries, branches and localities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan on response to storm No. 6.

Attending at the Thanh Hoa province bridge were comrade Cao Van Cuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense (PCTT, TKCN&PTDS) and representatives of relevant sectors of the province.

On the afternoon of October 25, storm No. 6 was active in the eastern sea of ​​the North East Sea with strong intensity (strong wind level 10, gust level 12 and forecast to continue to strengthen to level 11-12, gust level 14-15), the direction of movement is still complicated, likely to affect the provinces in the Central region, directly threatening the safety of dykes, seawalls, and coastal river mouths.

To proactively respond to storm No. 6, central ministries, branches and localities are urgently implementing the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 110/CD-TTg dated October 24, 2024 and the Official Dispatches of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on responding to storm No. 6.

In Thanh Hoa, to proactively respond to storm No. 6, the Provincial People's Committee, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention and Control have issued 3 dispatches to respond to storm No. 6. People's Committees at all levels and sectors focus on closely monitoring response work according to the "four on-the-spot" motto to ensure safety of life and minimize property damage for people. At the same time, review and deploy measures to ensure safety for aquaculture and fishing activities at sea, river mouths and coastal areas; be ready to evacuate people from dangerous areas, especially those at risk of deep flooding, landslides, river mouths and coastal areas. Along with that, review and be ready to evacuate people in areas at risk of deep flooding, flash floods and landslides. Check and proactively take measures to ensure safety of reservoirs and downstream areas; control and guide safe traffic, especially through tunnels, spillways, deeply flooded areas, and fast-flowing water...

As of 3:00 p.m. on October 25, the whole province had 6,117 vehicles/19,968 workers. Of which, 5,588 vehicles/16,597 workers were anchored at the port; 529 vehicles/3,371 workers were operating at sea (Tonkin Gulf: 511 vehicles/3,200 workers, South East Sea: 18 vehicles/171 workers). Vehicles operating at sea have received information about storm No. 6 and are in regular contact with authorities, families, and local authorities.

Speaking at the conference, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan emphasized that in order to cope with storm 6, ministries, branches and localities proactively propose situations and response scenarios to limit damage to property and people's lives. Localities review and deploy measures to ensure safety for tourism, aquaculture and seafood exploitation activities at sea; resolutely evacuate people on cages and aquaculture huts to safe places. At the same time, closely monitor the situation, proactively direct and effectively implement storm and flood prevention and control work according to assigned tasks and authority; ensure the safety of dykes and dams.
