Deploying biometric technology application on VNeID platform at Tho Xuan Airport

At the first meeting of the Government's Steering Committee on science , technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06, the Prime Minister assigned Ministers, Deputy Ministers of ministerial-level agencies, Government agencies, and Chairmen of People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to apply biometric technology at 100% of airports, ports, and border gates on the VNeID platform, to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.

On May 27, 2025, the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 7590/UBND-HCKSTTHC to the Ministry of Public Security , Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Construction and Vietnam Airports Corporation - ACV requesting support for the implementation of biometric technology application on the VNeID platform at Tho Xuan Airport.

Up to now, relevant units have organized the installation of equipment, tested the solution at Tho Xuan Airport and officially started operating from August 1, 2025.

Through monitoring, as of September 2, 2025, at Tho Xuan Airport, 3,521/53,191 (6.6%) of the number of passengers passing through automatic security gates used biometric technology.

In order to effectively deploy the biometric application solution on the VNeID platform at Tho Xuan Airport, on September 8, 2025, the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 15005/UBND-HCC on deploying the application of biometric technology on the VNeID platform at Tho Xuan Airport.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Tho Xuan Airport to preside over and coordinate with Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet,... and the Provincial Police (Immigration Management Department) to arrange a guidance counter near the automatic doors so that officers can directly propagate and support people in using biometric technology solutions on the VNeID platform to check in for flights. The instructions must be clear and follow the correct procedures, helping people to easily access and improve their experience using the solution at the airport.

The Provincial Police assigned relevant professional units to closely coordinate with Tho Xuan Airport and airlines to organize the implementation of the solution; daily summarize the implementation results, difficulties, problems and recommendations (if any) and send them to the Department of Administrative Police for Social Order - Ministry of Public Security. At the same time, regularly monitor, evaluate, report and advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to effectively implement the solution.

Thanh Hoa Newspaper and Radio - Television proactively coordinate with Tho Xuan Airport and Provincial Police to create news and articles to widely propagate to local people about the benefits of using biometric technology on the VNeID platform at Tho Xuan Airport so that people know and use it.
